SG-1 half-season ending episode.
Sep. 22nd, 2006 08:42 pmDr. Daniel Jackson is looking particularly swoon-worthy this episode. ::purr::
edited to add: Faith. Dr. Jackson, child of the universe. Oh, how I love him.
All in all, I liked this episode. A good way to end the half season without a big ol' cliffhanger, which I hate. So yay! Only one small niggle (hahahahaha! No really, I promise.)
( LJ cut for small niggle )

SG-1 cancelled??? Noooooooooooooooes!!!
Aug. 21st, 2006 09:19 pmI just found via my friends list that SG-1 has been cancelled.
::boggles::
NO! I can't friggin' believe it! Dammit! Executive producer Robert C. Cooper is trying to give me hope, but I'm not buying it. Blast it all!
I'm glad I'm getting those Stargate figures. Dammit. First NSync, now this. I am bereft.

SG-1, Pegasus Project 01
Jul. 28th, 2006 10:49 pmI haven't watched all of it because OMG, I've been talking to my dad for friggin' HOURS, but I did see the opener before the credits. Thank you, Time-Warner for DVR.
It's only one sentence, but I'm cut-tagging because I'm just. that. nice. ( Daniel! )

Jul. 23rd, 2006 10:04 pmMy thoughts on Friday's SG-1 episode, thoughtfully cut-tagged for the spoiler allergic.
( *Team* episode, finally! )
( *Team* episode, finally! )
Yay! I've finally seen (am in the process of watching) the Stargate episode where Jack very sweetly pushes Daniel's glasses up on his nose. Eeee! So cute! I immediately hit the 'record' option on my remote. Yay! Jack/Daniel cuteness! Daniel!

ROFL! The scene with the bomb or whatever it is and Sam's underneath and all the "I think that's it" and "I'm pretty sure you touch it." Eeee! Daniel's got a book and he's on his back on the floor under the bomb! He looks fabulous, of course, because he's Daniel and he's pretty much adorable. I love Daniel.
Also, JC still owns me, apparently. Bastard.
Also also, if anyone wants a slightly used husband, let me know. I'll pay shipping. ;-p

SG-1! Lurved it!
Feb. 26th, 2006 07:11 pmThe last couple of SG-1 eps have been much more team-oriented, and this makes me happy! They still need to adjust Mitchell's ritalin levels or something, because he's definitely all over the place. It'll be nice when they finally get a handle on the character and stop writing him as fawning fanboy/ninja/hothead upstart, especially the latter. He's the leader of the flagship off-world team and a Congressional Medal of Honor winner, for cripe's sake, and I wouldn't trust this guy as far as I could throw him. Too bad, because I really like the way the season started. ANYWAY, I really liked last Friday's episode. Really liked it.

( Stargate SG-1, Arthur's Mantle )
I have absolutely nothing to say, but I haven't posted in a couple of days, so here we are.
Watched Saved! last night, the Jesus high school movie with Mandy Moore and McCauley Culkin. Hilarious! It was a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be. How disturbing is it that that kind of closed environment reminded me of something, but I'm not sure what? Yeah, I'm making *no* sense.
Finally watched the Stargate SG-1 ep I DVR'd on Friday, "Stronghold." I continue to love Mitchell (thanks to Ben Browder's fine acting), but I'm not sure what the writers are thinking. How about less angsting over people I don't know and more bonding with the team? Yes? Yes. Watched last week's Battlestar and OMG, I love that show. Great story lines, great writing. That show deserves every good word I've seen in print, and then some.
Oh! Speaking of SGA, I'm gonna fic pimp. Seeing how once again I'm all about the less popular pairing, John Sheppard/Ronon Dex stories don't happen along that often. Yay! You can imagine my pleasure at finding a small stash of them by Bone. Yes, I continued to be dazzled by the gorgeousness that is Jason Momoa. I'm only human folks, and he is insanely beautiful. *cough* Yes.
On the writing front, yay! I'm kicking a couple of things nearer to completion, even though I'm still thinking about my JuC offerings for JuC Day. A couple of days ago (yesterday?) someone asked how to get through writer's block. I didn't think that I had any advice but now I realize that what I usually do is just start writing anyway. It could be something completely unrelated, or something that sounds stupid, or...whatever. The trick is to set your fingers and brain in motion, to get them doing *something* instead of nothing.
I tried to participate in some kind of meme where you only answer comments using your icons but because I am lame, I screwed up twice. I now understand how it works, but feh. Too embarrassed to play. BWAHAHA, but not too embarrassed to share my shame with my flist! I kill me.

Writing. Surfing. Writing.
Jan. 28th, 2006 08:09 pmWorking on fic today, the one that's all framed in and is ready for editing, tweaking and revision. It's Harry Potter, my first. I have a couple of other HP ones that are near completion and one of these days I'll post them. I can't even tell you how old these are, but I *can* tell you that book six jossed at least one detail or other in nearly all of them. Bastage book. ;-)
Also working on a JuC, which, holy crap, I need to concentrate on if it's going to be ready for JuC day. And...another holy crap, because I just realized that not only is it Joey's birthday (happy birthday, Gorgeous Lips!), but it's my pop!fandom birthday as well. Jeebus, has it really been five years? My God. Seems like just yesterday I was zipping along the internet reading every article I could get my hands on, saving every picture I could find. JC is my alpha and omega, but I do love the five of them. It's like your hand, baby.
Also working on a Stargate SG-1 thingy. Scotty's laughing (or snorting) because I said at least twice that I probably wouldn't ever write SG-1 fic. Wellllllllllllllll, I'll probably never write Daniel/Jack, which I've read a ton of and love, but there are only about five Daniel/Cameron stories out there and that's just criminal. They've got chemistry! Their love needs to be documented! Seems I'm just the shmoe to do it. Probably won't do any offworld stuff, as I'm not much of a world-builder. Hmmm.
Another series that I'm *sure* I'll never write is Atlantis, and I'm sure about this because I haven't watched the show enough to get a feeling for the characters and how they interact, other than I find myself going ohmygodrononhothothot! when Jason Momoa is onscreen. He's just every variety of yummy there is.
If I *did* write Atlantis fic it would be Ronon/Sheppard, because I'm the only person in the known world, apparently, who 1) doesn't see the Sheppard/McKay hotness and, 2) doesn't see the McKay attraction at all, and I'm not talking about his looks. He rubs me all kinds of the wrong way, and oyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, I can only watch so much of him in one sitting. It's probably just a coincidence that the only eps I've ever seen were pretty light on the McKay action. ;-p Oddly enough, I read a Daniel/Rodney fic this afternoon that I really liked, Two Galaxies, by
mirabile_dictu.
Speaking of Atlantis and SG-1, all you Atlantis people have my profound condolences for the upcoming season when Col. Samantha Carter and her big brain crash land on your show. Very deep condolences. I'll stop now.
More writing!

If you're like me, you may have thought, "Wow, Col. Jack's kinda cute and he can be quite charming." Also if you're like me, you never really thought he was sexy. Cute and charming, yes. Sexy...no. Well, as Carter would say, Holy Hannah!
Who'dda thunk young RDA once posed for 1-800-boys-r-us? Not me, certainly. Gakked from

Edited to add: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! Holy frig, man, what a perfect, perfect show. I can't believe I haven't been sucked in before now. This series deserves multiple Oscars. Yes, I know. Don't mess with my fantasy. ::loves::

SciFi Friday! SG-1! Atlantis! Galactica!
Jan. 7th, 2006 09:02 pmSo glad I decided to check in on SG-1 last night as I was apparently on crack and it *was* the beginning of the second half of the season after all. Woohoo!
Putting my thoughts behind an LJ cut since at least one person on my friends list is spoiler-allergic to anything after the first season. If you haven't seen the later seasons, don't click the link because...well. Don't. Or do, but don't blame me if you're seriously spoiled after reading.
SciFi Friday thoughts and opinions of Fox X. Monkey.
( Stargate SG-1 ramblings. )
Atlantis! I was talking to Dad during most of this so I missed what were probably important plot points. Still, I got to ogle the pretty (Ronon!) for a while. Ronon, Sheppard and Teyla are my favorites (love Teyla!). I can't stand Rodney McKay, so the fact that he wasn't much in last night's show made me happy. I did enjoy the babbling but mostly, I'm happiest when he isn't onscreen being annoying. Dr. Weir! Aiiii, this woman makes Dr. Lam look manic. I don't even think that 'wooden' accurately expresses it. As someone in LJland noted, though, seeing the original Dr. Weir on SG-1 gave them a whole new appreciation for Atlantis!Weir, and I agree - and that's probably why the original didn't reprise the role. Yikes!
Battlestar! WOW, this show has finally snagged me. I've seen bits and pieces and the odd ep here and there, but for some reason I just never connected enough to watch on a weekly basis. Ha! That's changed, because I'm going to be right there waiting for it next week.
Unlike the other Friday shows, I like all of the actors on this show. No one really bugs me, though I can take or leave Starbuck and Apollo. Eh. I love, love, love Mary McDonnell, and Edward James Olmos and Grace Park are my two remaining favorites. There's strong writing and great acting on this show, so again, I'm not sure why I just never really got hooked. I'm looking forward to next week's episode.
And on that note, eeeeeep! Time to call Dad!
