How can a movie this bloody awesome not have at least one LJ comm devoted to it!? Come on, a cool movie about NINJAS, for Pete's sake, with the super fabulous Naomie Harris (loved her since 28 Days Later) and the aforementioned super GAWJUS Rain. Honestly people, what do you want!? The lack of a ship comm for these two makes me weep. ::cries::
Mmmmmmmmmm, yumminess!
Sep. 27th, 2010 06:04 pmI watched Ninja Assassin on Cinemax yesterday, and HUMINA! what a fantastically yummy young man is the male lead! Rain, born Jung Ji-Hoon. Cute enough in the Wikipedia pic, but this is teh hotness as he appeared in the movie: Raizo and more (shirtless!) Raizo. I am in lurve. ::purrrrrrrr::
Also! His lips should be illegal. ::whimper::

Day 13 - A song that is a guilty pleasure
Sep. 20th, 2010 05:37 pmDay 13 - A song that is a guilty pleasure
Easy, easy, easy! I absolutely love this, and have since the first time I heard it. It's the end theme for Azumanga Daioh, a sweet and completely crack-tastic anime about a group of Japanese high school girlfriends. The theme and closing images reinforce both the sweetness and crack-tasticness of the show. My very favorite guilty pleasure. :-) If this doesn't make you smile, you have no soul.

Day 12 - A song from a band you hate
Sep. 19th, 2010 07:47 pmDay 12 - A song from a band you hate
After much thought (and internet research), I've come up with a band.
Now, I know that there truly *is* a band out there that I hate, but for the moment these guys will have to do. As looks go, Adam Levine is closer to the hotter end of the scale than not, but ye *Gods* the man's voice drives me around the bend. Since the world has become aware of Maroon 5, I've probably heard two songs of theirs in their entirety -- twice, once each. I have one album of theirs, Songs About Jane, in my iPod; every time one of their songs comes up in shuffle mode, I hit "next" faster than...something fast. So, while I don't really hate these guys, I do find them hard to listen to for any length of time.
Edited to add: I originally considered Blues Traveler because John Popper gets on my nerves and I'm not that impressed with his harmonica skillz. But! Even though I'm not crazy about the band, I *can* listen to them without bursting my ear drums.
She Will Be Loved - Maroon 5

Day 12 - A song from a band you hate
Sep. 19th, 2010 04:00 pmDay 12 - A song from a band you hate
Absolutely no idea what to do with this one. Right off the top of my head, I can't think of any bands that I hate. Anyway.
My choices thus far have been mainstream and predictable. No fun indie bands here! No jazz, spoken word, no death metal, no Celtic tunes. Musically, I suppose that I'm pretty boring. If you're musically boring too, then you'll enjoy my choices!
Well, once I choose something for this one, that is. Stay tuned. :-)

Day 11 - A song from your favorite band
Sep. 18th, 2010 11:30 amDay 11 - A song from your favorite band
This should be easy, just one song from my favorite band. Trouble is, I don't have one favorite band. I haz many! Hmmmmmmm, and hmmmmmmm again. I think I'll step out of the predictability box here and go for something completely unexpected. Nothing from Live, NSYNC, Dave Matthews or A Perfect Circle (my current favorite bands). Three former favorite bands: Elton John, Police and Queen (Queeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!). Yes, let's go with Queen.
Brian May, guitarist extraordinaire, and totally my Future Rock Husband when I was younger. ;-) *And!* As if being a recognized virtuoso guitarist isn't enough, he's an astrophysicist. I love smart boys. ::purrrrrr:: And! "On 17 November 2007, May was appointed Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University, taking over from Cherie Blair, and installed in 2008."
Oh my God, I still love him.
I'm going to give you two Queen songs. The first is The Prophet's Song, which is, I believe, my favorite Queen tune of all time. My favorite part features my favorite member -- imagine that! -- Mr. May. If you're curious, skip ahead to 5:50 and listen through 6:48. His guitar work is kickin' throughout, but I just loooooove that section. Aiiiii, I'm in flames! Good Lord, he's fabulous.

Vampire Diaries...as I watch...
Sep. 9th, 2010 09:09 pmDVR'd, now watching. ( Watch along with me! )
Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep
There are no songs that make me fall asleep! In lieu of a song that makes me go sleepy-time, I give you a heavy metal lullaby:
Say what? Embedding disabled? Bastages! Well, you can't watch it here in the comfort of my DW, you'll have to click over to Youtube to watch it:
Silent Lucidity - Queensryche. Such a pretty song! I love it.
Woohoodles! The one above is the official video, the following one is a fan-made one with lyrics. But the music is fantastic, and that's what counts. Kleek! Listen! Hmmm, actually, this one sounds better than the above. But! The official video gives you all the sleepy-time images and such. Anyway, lovely song. Enjoy. :-)

Vampire Diaries! Stuff!
Sep. 9th, 2010 06:27 pmOkay show, don't piss me off tonight. Whee! Season two premiere! If you're shoving this quadrangle down my throat, show, it'd better be damn good. And please, don't make Bonnie be the Angry Black Woman all season because that would well and truly suck, and it might make me have to cut a bitch. (see what I did there?)
Anyway.
Trying to decide whether to spam with comments as I watch, or take notes during the show and then make one post after. Because clearly, the fate of the world depends on my decision. ::eyeroll at self::
I've mentioned before how my friends and I have the most bizarre lunch conversations. Today we had more fun than a little bit casting our co-workers in a WWII movie. We IM'd through the afternoon when either of us had an idea or thought of a crazy stereotypical 40s war movie quote. Funny stuff. :-)

Bizarrely random Chasez moment. Kinda.
Sep. 8th, 2010 10:07 pm...but not that Chasez! I GoogleNews the boy every now and then to see if anything new pops up, like, breaking news that he's working on an album or something. No such luck on that front, but I did see this a couple of weeks ago: Frozen yogurt makes a cool comeback. The blurb in question is on the second page.
"I can choose the quantity, choose the mixture," said Heather Chasez of Winter Park, who visits Yogurtland and other shops about once a week. "A lot of times I go, I don't get a large amount. I can get just what I'm hungry for."
It was so random it made me smile. :-) Plus, it's frozen yogurt, which is smile-inducing all on its own. There was a place here in town that specialized in frozen custard, not ice cream, and the stuff was waaaaaay too yummy. My personal favorite was Cake Batter. They've since closed, and it makes me cry to think of it. Mmmmmmm, it was the creamiest stuff you've ever tasted.
R.I.P. frozen custard place! We hardly knew ye. ::sniff::

Day 09 - A song that you can dance to
I LOVE THIS SONG. I know that I'm a little liberal with my capslock, but yes, it's warranted here. This is my dancing song. Well...not dancing so much as severe, neck-breaking headbopping. If anyone can listen to this without at least one headbop, I will give thatsoulless zombie person a virtual cookie.
And! One of these days I'll try for real dancing to this song just to see what hilarity ensues.

Day 09 - A song that you can dance to
Sep. 8th, 2010 08:02 pmDay 09 - A song that you can dance to
Okay, this one's going to take a little thought. Most of the time I do chair dancing, and if chair dancing counts, Pop would be the song. If I'm alone in my office (or even at home listening to my 'pod) I always, always do at least one "POP!" touchdown move with the hands. ALWAYS.
But! I mentioned at the beginning of this thing that I wanted to avoid some of the bands that would be easy defaults, so...no Pop for this one. I shall keep thinking.
edited to add: Listening to it now and yes, I just did the move. It's infectious, y'all. Also, JC is twelve kinds of sexay in this video. Oh JC, my chin-striped beauty. ::le sigh::
Off to think.

What the hell, Dreamwidth???
Sep. 7th, 2010 03:32 pmI AM NOT HAPPY, DREAMWIDTH JOURNAL. ;-p
Note to self (and others like me): If you change your LJ password, you need to update your cross-post settings. Yes I'm a doofus.
I AM HAPPY, DREAMWIDTH JOURNAL. :-D
Music meme, day eight.
Sep. 7th, 2010 03:21 pmDay 08 - A song that you know all the words to
Ha! I know all words to all songs, because I am a music meister. Seriously though, I sang along with some songs and if I fumbled even one word, I tossed it out of the "maybe" pile of answers. But! I know all the words to this one! It may be cheating a bit, since it's a slightly truncated version of the original, but it still counts, yes? Yes. :-)
NSYNC's tribute to Janet Jackson (MTV Icon special) - That's the Way Love Goes. Two things:
1) JC couldn't be more adorable if he tried (even with that slightly wacky anime hairdo).
2) This was the beginning of Lance's True Period of Hotness, which reached its zenith with the Bee Gees Grammys tribute, and ended with the nose job. He still has the most beautiful neck I've ever seen, but yikes! That pasteurized, homogenized nose. Sorry Lance, I will never forgive you for that. ::moment of silence for Lance's original schnozz::

Whee! I took an extra day off for the holiday, so I'm at home enjoying not being at work. Tomorrow will probably be twelve shades of hell, so I'm not going to think about it.
After mulling it over for a while, I've finally made the switch to Dreamwidth. Importing my LJ entries took, like, negative time it was so fast! I imported all entries and comments and it took about two minutes, tops. I am beyond impressed!
Other than the cross-posting footer at the bottom of my entries, my friends still exclusively on LJ shouldn't notice a difference. You can continue to comment on LJ, or you can use Open ID to comment on Dreamwidth, your choice. :-)
For anyone interested in moving to Dreamwidth but wants to know more about it first, here's the link to the FAQ:

Edited to add... And! Thanks to Kat, the Dreamwidth Support Ninja, I can also give you the link to A guide to Dreamwidth for LiveJournal users:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=121
I'm not getting paid for this (I have a free account!), I'm just being a good LJ/DW neighbor. I'm just starting to learn my way about the site, so I'm sure there will be many, many teeth-gnashing posts in the future. ;-)
