So, my iPod served up Pop today. Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Man, the ache of missing them was physical, I kid you not. Fired up YouTube when I got home and I've been watching/listening to it pretty steadily as I've surfed.

I'm crying with love for these guys.

Chris: How cute was he as a DJ? I especially love it when he does that full swipe thing and bends over the turntable kind of sideways. I'm completely not making sense, so watch for yourself at 2:04. Chrissofer!

Lance: Other than looking completely hot, Lance doesn't do a whole lot in this one. But! Gotta give him points for the Lance Dance. Lance with his original equipment, so gorgeous...his nose, get your mind out of the gutter. 1:40

Joey: Poor mangled Joey and his accidentally crushed leg. But! There's a bright side! Instead of dancing, Joey gets to hang wid da ladeez. 1:50 Evil Wade filled in for Joey on the dancing side of things, but Evil Wade will get no links to his faux-Joey booty shaking.

Justin: He's becoming a man, but there's still a certain soft, young quality to his face just here: 1:52 Collectively, I *love* their Pop outfits.

JC!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, JC. This breaks my heart because I love you so. This to me was the height of his gorgeousness with NSync. "NSYNC's dark-haired beauty." Can't remember the reviewer who wrote that, but it's oh, so true. Ah! Here 'tis. ::le sigh:: *Love* JC's outfit. Love the hair, love the chin strip. Love JC sauntering down the Tunnel O' Sex, getting felt up 'cause he's a rock star and that's what they do. 1:22 Love his singing. Love his dancing. Love him.

They broke my heart in seventeen places. Why'd they go away? ::cries::

It's a three-day weekend for me (whee!), the perfect time to pose a question to my friends list and any interested passers-by.

At the time I took my extended break, people were drifting away from popslash. Lots of fen wound up in bandslash, and Supernatural was really gathering steam -- though it may have seemed that way 'cause I had just discovered it :-D. While I was away I watched a lot of shows I hadn't before, so this is a perfect time to see what I may or may no longer have in common with my friends list.

Question: So what's everyone into now? What are your primary fandoms? Secondary? What fandoms do you only read in, what fandoms have inspired you to write?

Since I've wanted to do this for forever but just thinking of it made me tired, I offer my fandom timeline so you can see not just what I'm into, but where I've been. Long, so I don't blame you if you skip it.

down Fox's rabbit hole...so to speak. )

So...a year and a half since I last posted. Aiiii! It's been an interesting eighteen months, to be sure -- not always in good ways. I've been away for various reasons: my laptop got all virused-up, the desktop had issues, there was a lapse in home internet access...there were goofy Psychological Issues involved, and other stuff as well. As Bette Davis once said, it's been a bumpy ride.

I need to BIG TIME apologize to someone mentioned in my last post (oddly enough), the should-have-been recipient of my never-written JuC Swap story. As I mentioned in that post, I had a fabulous assignment, someone I truly liked, someone I'd met and hung out with in the real life. It was a dream assignment. At that point it had been a while since I'd written the boys and I wanted to write them again. Only thing is, the more I tried, the more I couldn't.

It kind of reminds me of a story a friend told me about a friend of ours. She was late once with her mortgage payment. The later the payment became, the more terrified she was of making the late payment. Eventually -- believe it or not -- she was four months behind before it finally clicked in her brain. If I remember the story correctly, what clicked in her brain was a representative from the mortgage company showing up at her house. That sounds odd, but then again, it was about ten years ago and anything's possible, I suppose. Anyway.

So. Not being able to write turned into avoiding email and OH MY GOD, what the hell is wrong with me!? And much like my friend with the late mortgage payment, by the time I realized that the fic would not be happening, it was (in my twisted brain) too late to pull out gracefully. Which brings me to the other apology that's way overdue; I should have emailed the Swap organizers to let them know what was going on so a replacement writer could be found. Aiii! I'm a bastage. Ladies, I apologize. Should-have-been recipient...I apologize.

Edited to add, because I'm apparently a total numbnuts: Scotty, I apologize.

Avoiding email meant checking about once every two weeks, then once a month and that turned into forgetting my password, which turned into completely losing the email account that I've been using since I joined fandom. :: boggles :: I'm royally screwed because when I set up the account I was verra, verra new to the internet and was a little suspicious of such things, so I gave false personal info while filling in those blanks (I was assured by someone at the time that it made no difference). As a result, when Yahoo! recently asked me to verify myself by giving the birthdate I gave when I set up the account...I couldn't. I have *no* idea what I filled out way back then. It cut like a knife when I realized that I'll probably never be able to access that account again. So. In various ways I have shafted myself (and others!) ten ways from Sunday, fandomwise.

Anyway. I've been wanting to get back to LJ, I've been thinking about it quite a bit. This is a first step in that direction.

I did a very silly thing today -- I forwarded something to my work bud from my Yahoo! account. My *fandom* account. The one that has my LJ name displayed in the "From" line. This friend knows I dabble online, but has no idea about my slashy activities.

I freaked out about it for a few minutes, considered doing the friends-only thing, then decided...eh. Whatev. She's not the type to rat me out or anything so that's not a worry, but I *do* wonder -- should she track my LJ down, that is -- what she'll think about my fandom life.

I think I'm determined not to think about it, not to worry about it. She'll either think I'm a freak or she won't. Hopefully -- should she track down my LJ, that is -- she'll read everything and we'll never speak of it. Then again, she may become a slash fan, though I doubt it. But maybe. Or not. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. OH MY GOD, I'm such a freakin' spazz.

NOTE TO OFFLINE WORK BUD WHO MAY OR NOT BE READING MY LJ...DON'T FREAK, WOMAN. I'M STILL ME. :-)
