Bad fic! Argh! Argh, argh!

How do you guys do it? I can't read bad!fic, I just can't do it. It makes me crazy; I just want to hit somebody. Jeebus, they've tried to kiss about 20 times now, and they've been interrupted every. single. time. And it's just the third friggin' chapter! Arrrrggggggghhhhh!!!!

Does he love me? He says he does, but I'm sure he doesn't mean it! I kissed him and OH GOD, he's been standing there motionless and speechless for ten minutes so now I'll run out of the room because I know he hates me! I'm going to hide for weeks lest he see my tears and be disgusted by my shameless display of emotion!

Hit me in the head with a 2x4, please. Thanks.

Are you kidding? That sounds like comedy gold! The drama! The suspense! The overwhelming sexual tension! If you're lucky, soon to be followed by mixed signals, complete and total lack of communication, jealousy over another band member, and the all important claiming of the object of one's interest as a material possession. All written without any sense of humour whatsoever, of course.

Oh, see, that's not what I consider bad!fic. Bad!fic is something short and so ridden with spelling and grammer mistakes that it's almost unintelligible. Something with a ridiculous plot and bad characterizations and usually with Justin crying. Something that takes two minutes to read and an hour to stop laughing. :)

Well, damn. You just gave away the plot to my story, a 3947569847638726239874 page epic with 987 chapters in which little Juju and JC (or Jim and Blair or Lex and Clark or Jack and Daniel or Duncan and Methos or any other slash pairing) pledge Eternal!Love! like for, Forever and Ever. I'm weeping now, because my Life's Blood is in this epic, and I know No One Else can ever tell the story with the same Throbbing Intensity I can. I can Never write again!

Ha! You started reading it, too. (If we're in fact thinking of the same story.) I'll admit it, I liked the first couple chapters because I thought, "Wow, this is kind of new and refreshing," because of the different style and introspective!Justin. But then it all started to go downhill. Part of the blah feeling was because so much was updated at a time - I felt like I was literally wading through a thick swamp trying to get to the end. The constant non-forward action really bugged me, too. Nothing was HAPPENING. It was just repetition of the same "conflict" over and over again for like, 200k.

But for real, mine and Joie's number one blah-factor right now is too many peripheral characters! Why why why put all these people in who serve no purpose? Why? Why? WHY?

Fox, I'm asking you to trust me when I tell you to finish the series. You HAVE to. Questions aren't answered, plot becomes even more tangled, descriptions continue to describe themselves. I love it!

Bad!fic, and it is bad!fic, is like a B movie or an annoying one hit wonder type song. You have to love it, encourage it, read it, so that one day it'll grow into something more. Or you know, you post and discuss with your friends.

But I really do feel that we should praise and cherish bad!Joshtin, because without it I think a lot of the good Joshtin writers *wouldn’t* write, you know, they’d all probably just read in contented bliss. :-P But like, with the badific thy feel they must take matters into their own hands, or something like that, yeah.... :::shruuuuug:::
