JC album cuts have been leaked, kids!
Jun. 29th, 2003 10:27 pmJC! Holey moley, album cuts have been leaked. Thanks to the heads up in
scot_ty's journal, there's a link to the JJB post containing the download links:
http://pub209.ezboard.com/fjjboardfrm29.showMessage?topicID=8317.topic
and here's the links:
Build My World
One Night Stand
Some Girls
According to Jayne's post, there's no name listed on the website where these were found, and they're not claimed to be JC. But really, all you have to do is listen. If this *isn't* JC, it's the most gifted impressionist I've ever heard.
"One Night Stand" pays homage to both Smokey Robinson and Donna Summer, and overall, a nod to Prince's "Gett Off." JC, I love your musical little brain.
And the curls are back!!! Oddly enough, I wondered earlier in
loveisimmortal's journal whether the curls meant that the JC solo promo machine was about to switch into gear. And now album leaks. You can't tell me the two aren't related.
Aiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!! It's gonna happen! Really gonna happen!

Date: 2003-06-29 08:06 pm (UTC)I cracked up when Ted Casablanca(s? I can never remember) said this past week that JC looked air-brushed and perfect. Bwahaha! JC's been scruffy for a year, and Ted starts complaining when he cleans up a little. But yes, he's looking *very* well-groomed in that Vegas pic.
Promo's definitely right around the corner.

Date: 2003-06-29 07:54 pm (UTC)I'm swooning, here. My love for JC is intense and scary, and thank goodness there are other people who feel the same way. ;-)

Date: 2003-06-29 08:01 pm (UTC)They do actually. I know there have been a few artists who've pushed their release dates up because material's been leaked on the net.

Date: 2003-06-29 08:03 pm (UTC)That's our eclectic boy. I'm dying here, just dying. An entire album of Chasez solo stuff is going to KILL me. Do you hear me? Dead.
Based on my reaction to three assorted *clips*, I'm calling off the day the album drops. Going to stay home, all day, with the headphones on. Probably shaking and crying and dancing and squeeing the entire time. :-)
JC!!!!!
Re: Smokey/Donna
Date: 2003-06-29 10:07 pm (UTC)I could probably call in sick, though. I mean, shaking and crying, that's not normal behavior, is it? *nods to self*

Date: 2003-06-29 08:28 pm (UTC)These songs were NOT "leaked".
They are over a http://www.promosquad.com for people to listen to and review/rate.

Date: 2003-06-29 08:40 pm (UTC)You said that the songs aren't referenced to JC in any way...is that the way all clips are listed on the site? Is it to promote honest consumer ratings?
How long have the clips been up, does anyone know?
Considering how little we've been given about the album, these are as good as a leak to me. We've been teased for ages about the release, then things looked pretty bleak that we'd see it at all this year...now clips have pretty quietly turned up for review.
Someone ought to clue JoJo in to these clips so he can start playin them.

Date: 2003-06-29 08:44 pm (UTC)I believe they do it that way so you will not be influenced by knowing who the artists are. It's a way to get honest reactions.

Date: 2003-06-29 08:52 pm (UTC)Good way to do things for unbiased responses.
Is there any way to tell how long it normally takes from this website to release? If that makes sense. Like, is this normal considering the new Sept. 9th date we've been given?
Who uses this website? Is it like a testmarket for the record companies to see which singles to release first?

Date: 2003-06-29 08:57 pm (UTC)Q. “What is my member name?”
A. Your member name is simply the promosquad identity you choose when becoming a member. You can pick any name you like, and it allows you to remain anonymous if you like. This is how people will identify you when you are logged in to the site.
Q. “What can I do here?”
A. promosquad is separated into six main areas: The Promosquad Jukebox (rate new music), Promote Artists, Get Famous, Promosquad Interactive, Prize Store, and the Message Boards.
The Promosquad Jukebox (rate new music)
Listen to and rate new music. Your opinions and votes really matter and music artists and record labels pay attention and use this feedback in making critical decisions about their new releases.
Promote Artists
Play a part in helping to promote the latest records released by today’s newest and hottest artists by doing things like requesting their songs at radio, MTV, BET, and by spreading the word about them by sending people to their websites….plus you get the chance to win points that you can cash in for prizes, and also win great contests too! Promote new music both in your town, and on the Internet!
Get Famous
Know someone that deserves to be the next famous music star? Maybe it’s you, or your cousin’s band, or that great group you caught at a show last weekend. Well this is the place to tell us about them. It’s easy …submit your favorites, and you could be on your way to landing them a real record deal and a thousand dollar finder's fee for yourself in the process.
Promosquad Interactive
The place to go for polls, music news, gossip, countdown charts, and more.
Prize Store
This is where you can cash in your points for great prizes like the latest CDs, electronics, and other one of a kind items directly from the record labels.
Message Boards
Where do you go to hang out with the rest of the promosquad community? Right here….voice your opinions, share info, ask some questions, whatever you want…it’s open for you 24/7!
Q. “How do you get points?”
A. You get points by participating in many of the things described in the last answer. Promote artists, rate songs in the jukebox, participate in a poll, find a hot new band….they all get you certain amounts of points that you can then cash in for prizes!
Q. “How long does it take to get my prize?”
A. Please always allow up to six weeks for prizes to arrive at your door. While many items may be in stock in our warehouse, we do get back ordered occasionally. You may keep track of your current orders by clicking on the “my stats” section of the site at any time.
Q. “How often do you add new songs to rate in the jukebox?”
A. We load new songs into the promosquad jukebox all the time! If you find that you have completed rating the existing songs, don’t wait too long to come back and check for more….chances are good that within a few hours there will be more stuff there for you too listen to and vote on.
Q. “How do you keep track of my points?”
A. Actually, everything you do at promosquad is tracked because you create a unique ID when you pick your username. Every time you rate a song, participate in a poll, submit a news story, etc…we make sure it is you that gets credited because of your unique ID.
Q. “How did you come up with such a totally cool concept?”
A. Many of the people that work here have worked in the music business for years at record companies, radio stations, and recording studios. We know the most important things are finding great music and promoting it. We always knew that the best way to do this would be by putting the job directly in the hands of the fans. At promosquad you’ll make a real difference in the music industry by finding new talent, helping labels to pick singles and artists, and finally by helping to break those artists in your market. We just figured it was time for you to be more in control.

Date: 2003-06-30 11:37 am (UTC)If somebody had told me that two mouseketeer boys and girls would be the future of our music, good at it, and I’d be one of their biggest stalker-ish fans I would have died of a giggle fit. ::sigh::
I love JC’s voice.

Date: 2003-06-30 12:01 pm (UTC)And the curls are back! That picture killed me, but then then the pictures today in the suit, with a PINK shirt? Mr. Chasez. Good Lord, I adore that man. Gotta be a Pinky shout-out, don't you think?
I'm never going to survive when the promo *really* gets started. :-)
Re:
Date: 2003-06-30 12:26 pm (UTC)Gatta be a shout-out/eat-your-heart out type thing, JC being subtle per usual. Heehaha! Love it.
Hmm. I'm trying to devise a machinate to keep my overflowing JC love in RL when he starts doing talk shows, dammit. :-P
::g:: I can't wait to read all the reviews for his album when they come! Whee! Strap on your seatbelt girlie, 's gonna be a bumpy, sexay, oh-so fun ride!
