Yes, I must admit that I enjoyed the episode. Self-contained enough that I wasn't scratching my head wondering what was going on, but enough backstory tossed in to make me curious about what's come before.

Probably wouldn't slash the Winchesters, but I see the appeal. Attractive but not overly-pretty men locked in brotherly angst! Road trips! Shared rooms! Guns! Dood, I totally see the appeal.

Also, I've always loved the 'devil at the crossroads' mythos, so that was a treat; I'm totally convinced that Justin Timberlake found a crossroads of his own in some Tennessee backwoods. ;-)

Soopernatchul! I think I've finally gotten a piece of CW crack to call my own. Oh, the shame of it all.

Muwahahahaha. Welcome to the Dark Side of the Force. *g*

And to echo what the others have said above...give it a few more episodes. Heh. Particularly if you start from the beginning; it doesn't take long to see it. I think it took me...three or four eps to be completely sold.

And if you don't get there, well. There's always J2. And I know you're not against a bit of RPS *g*

I SOMETIMES FIND MYSELF READING SPN GEN!

And it's enough! Sometimes. I never thought I'd see the day.

Donna...I've written SPN gen! Okay, granted, it's all been (mostly) weechesters, but STILL. I've never, ever, in ANY of the many fandoms I've written in before, written gen.

EVER!

Talk about a mind-bending experience!

Yep, boys as boys. *g*

Oh, we have a whole dictionary! Weechesters, Weecest (this would be anything that happens pre-pilot, really), the Metallicar, Sammessiah...

Here, have some weechesters:

I think my hands would break off if I attempted gen. My body would spontaneously reject the traitorous appendages and that would be that.

See, and I thought so, too. *g* But I LIKE the boys as BOYS. In the early days *g* So, gen. But only to that point ;)

Hahahahahahahaha, I'm sure I'll see it with my second episode. My slash goggles be powerful ones, I think I just need to clean the lenses. ;-)

It's funny, isn't it? Rewatching old shows with my new (well, 12 yr-old *g*) slash goggles makes things interesting *g*

Get those lenses clean! *g* Join the fray. We're having fun over here :)

I'm not Satan! That's Sammy! Oh, wait... :P

They had me at "Dad's on a hunting trip..." and the way Sam's whole body language just... changed.

Actually, they may have had me at the fight in the dark, before they ever said a word to each other.

A wordless fight in the dark, eh? Freud would have looooved that.
