Happy JuC Day 2006! FIC: Something Different

First off, Happy JuC Day! Sings: It's the most wonderful time of the year... My apologies to the songwriter. Anyway! JuC Day means JuC fic!

This is new only in the sense that no one has ever read it. It's a longish part of something that was supposed to be much, much, much longer, something I realize now will probably never be finished. It stands on its own though, so here it is. The story takes place on the night of Justin's solo performance at the VMAs.

Oh, hell. That was sexy and scary in a way, and different. It's a different JC than I'm used to. I like him. Very much so. And take-charge Justin. And Chris's mouth. Woo.

I liked the parts with the girl, how she eats pop boys for breakfast. You walk this lovely fine line between using a lot of colloqialisms and slang to make it sound current and young, but without drawing attention to yourself in the process--it's just there in an seemingly effortless way, and not like you're trying.

a) Why are celebrities so stupid? How does it seem like a good idea to do all kinds of drugs and alcohol right before they appear on national television?

b) As long as it results in fics like this, they can go on being stupid. Awesome - and it just works for Justin to take matters into his own hands, so to speak.

Now that was hot! Very nice characterizations. I just read several stories about the VMAs night for my own JuC Day project, and it's interesting to see a totally different take on the night.
