Swap assignments went out yesterday, and I am quite pleased with mine.

In other news, Obama only needs four delegates to put a lock on the nomination. Yayness! I turned to CNN hoping to see Obama, but instead they're showing John McCain addressing supporters in Louisiana. Sorry if he's your guy, but McClain seriously creeps me out. ::eeeeeeeeeeee!::

I missed JC on the red carpet! I missed Christian Siriano gushing over how gorgeous the Chasez is! Dammit.

Yay, they're leaving McCain...to announce that Obama now has enough delegates to clinch the nomination. Wow, history in the making, and I'm watching it. I HELPED MAKE HISTORY! I wish Mom and Dad had lived to see this. :-)

Can I be a party pooper and just wish this entire election away? ALL of it has so disillusioned me that I'm all set for a write in ballot?

McCain well...he's just not me.

Obama...not liking his foreign policy.

Hiliary...disappointed me.

BUT...they're not Dubya.

No kidding, and THANK GOD. Love your icon; too bad it didn't happen. His presidency has been appalling, and it's amazing the things he and his cronies have gotten away with.

I agree on both points.

Who'd be your write-in?

I'm STILL trying to figure out how we have an armed presence overseas in battle but not at war, literally. The War Powers Act is supposed to stop this. So why???

BTW for those not sure, like me!: The War Powers Act of 1973 (Pub.L. 93-148), also referred to as the War Powers Resolution, is a resolution of Congress that stated that the President can send troops into action abroad only by authorization of Congress or if America is already under attack or serious threat. The War Powers Act requires that the president notify Congress within 48 hours of committing troops to military action and forbids troops from remaining for more than 60 days without a declaration of war.

yes? No war was EVER declared so how!?!!?

Who'd be your write-in?
*le sigh* THAT is the $64,000 question,my love. I'm leaning towards Gore, if no other reason than the man doesn't need it anymore, hell he's got an Oscar and Nobel award. But really the best people for office are those that never run: Powell, Kissinger (ok he can't and not the best ever, but at his time probably), Kirkpatrick (that was a woman with power). See? Smart people who got out & knew to stay out.

Isn't it amazing? I'm taking the day off after the election so I can stay up and watch the election returns, and hopefully watch some historic speeches the next day if/when Obama wins. :-D

Howdy, by the way! ::kisses::

Well, i'm in Australia and just watched Obama's speech- all i know is that on one channel we had our Australian anchorman talking to a couple of guys with American accents and he was beaming so widely that when the camera came in close you could see his eyes were starting to water. XD
But news hasn't really been that slanted in Hillary vs Obama over here.. if anything you might get a neg slant towards McCain because snippets of stupid things he's said have appeared once or twice. Although, when one of the American guys in that interview said that it 'would have been a momentous occasion with either of them but Obama DID it', i realised that Hillary getting in doesn't seem like such a huge change to anyone i've spoken to over here. Obama gives more inspirational speeches and has a more trustworthy/humble demeanor anyway.

I nearly got teary-eyed at the end of the speech. The man's an AMAZING speaker, very moving.

True. It would've been historic with Hillary as well, but I wouldn't have felt quite the same swell of emotion. :-)

Absolutely. American leaders and such are well known for their ability to speak- when i studied rhetoric as my non-science unit (before pulling out of the course- so don't be thinking i should be better at writing/expressing myself than this haha) i learned quite a bit of American history simply because we heard so many speeches by American leaders! And Obama is way way way at the top with the best of them. I'm always grinning after listening to him speak because his speeches are always so full of optimism and hope. And although there's a lot of patriotism there, his message also resonates with a general sense of humanity.

oh and they were saying how Hillary will prob be backing Obama cos they're both huge Democrats..... and how Obama will prob offer her an important role because he needs her supporters + like he said, having her as a competitor in the past probably will help him because she gave him the chance to address his major flaws early on... umm and he has a good chance because he keeps talking about what needs to be done rather than being concerned with the battle he's won and that's what American's are ultimately looking for- a leader. That his position on foreign policy is what will win it for him IF he wins. And he's young and Americans want the war to end because they don't see it going anywhere. But that he still has a few flaws to address all the same- they didn't elaborate lol.

Okay, the first part of that comment just sounded wrong. ;-) Apparently he interviewed JC on red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night. There is a clip, but my laptop's being wonky. I need to try again...

(whee! JC!)

OBAMA, BABY! Amazing. :-D
