Okay, Supernatural people, I'm DVRing tonight's episode and this will be my first episode ever. If it's not filled with incestously gorgeous brothers looking all hot and slashy while fighting unearthly evil and whatnot, I shall be most displeased.

Well I'm one of the few who don't slash the show, even though I'm a huge fan. But! I have to warn you that it's risky jumping into the latest season like this. From my experience, folks who don't go back and start from the beginning rarely like it. =(

I do know a few people who watched a few eps from this season and loved it so much they rented/bought seasons 1 and 2 to catch up, but it's much better if you start from the beginning. :)

I get folks telling me "It doesn't make sense" and then I find out they didn't start from the beginning. OF COURSE IT DOESN'T!!!!!

(not to say it's impossible to start from the middle, but there's so much backstory, that I think it's best when started from the start)

You picked a good episode, but I do suggest that if you like it, you rent the first 2 seasons, and try to download the rest of this season and watch everything in order. Each ep is good on it's own, but it's SO much better if you know all the back story for everything. :)

As a new member of the Supernatural fandom, I gotta say, I was told about starting in the middle. My first episode was the recent Christmas one. I will say that it caught me so much that I've been trying to catch up on the back stories since. Hubby bought seasons 1 and 2 and together we're watching them! Yes, it is possible to get hooked by starting in the middle, but you gotta learn the history once you've decided you love it! I never imagined having a lot of other icons other than sparkly ones, but I now have 3 that I alternate with, others waiting to be used, and I'm joining SPN communities! Welcome aboard! :)
