2. Bent : The Everlasting Blink
I actually found a torrent that had all of the albums/collaborations the group has produced thus far and Everlasting Blink is still my favorite. They're downtempo/lounge music which may not be your bag and if so, feel free to ignore the Shrift Rec.
3. Robin Thicke : The Evolution of Robin Thicke
His voice is great, like catch you by surprise great.
4. Shrift : Lost in a Moment
I can't stress how amazing this group is and how much I love them and want other people to listen to them. I can toss around words like sun-drenched or martini-laced and that still wouldn't be enough to describe the musical vibe. On second thought, don't ignore this rec.
5. Bebel Gilberto : Momento
I was torn between this, her newest album, and her debut. I went with Momento because it feels a lot more natural and easy going which = beautiful to me. Plus she has songs with handclaps.
xtra: The Magic Numbers : The Magic Numbers
Both albums are amazing, but the debut still holds a special place in my heart.
I'd upload any of them for you, Fox, but I purchased all but 2 from iTunes pre-unlocked music options.

Yes! Thank you! The first time I head Amy Winehouse I went a-Googling for more Motown revivalish stuff, and I'm pretty sure 100 Days, 100 Nights is an album I saw mentioned in a review, then promptly forgot to bookmark. Oy! Thank you! Other than the lyrics, Amy Winehouse's stuff is so spot on (phrasing, back-up vocals, instrumentation) that it makes me think I've gone back in time. :-) Thank you for that kick in the memory! 100 Days, definitely going on my list.
Downtempo/lounge is fine -- that's what I'm looking for, things that I like hearing, but don't have in my collection. I'm really digging retro stuff for work, so that would be perfect. I'll add both recs to my list.
Robin Thicke! Yes! I've got one song I loaded up from a complilation disk and you're right, he has a *very* surprising - in a good way - voice. He's been on my 'buy' list for a while now.
Thank you!
