Eureka! season finale! Wah!
Oct. 2nd, 2007 10:47 pmCutting for the one or two Eureka! fans on my friends list.
An enjoyable episode. Excuse me while I whine.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Friggin' bastages! They dangle Carter/Allison TWU WUV in my face all first season, knowing I'll love it, adore it, and cherish it to the end of my days...then they pull the rug out from under me. Argh! Poor Carter! Stark proposed and it looks like (maybe not) Allison's going to say yes. Waaaaaah! I hate this show (I love it).
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Friggin' bastages! Henry turned out to be a good guy (yay!) but he's being taken off to jail because of the virus hoax! I love and adore Henry, dammit, and they'd better make it right next season. Joe Morton's kind of the Morgan Freeman of the small screen; a very classy actor. Blast it all, he'd better not be off the show (not that I wouldn't turn in to see what's happening).
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Friggin' bastages! Taggart's increasingly annoying faux Australian accent continues to annoy me, increasingly. You know what would make it all worthwhile, though? If EARLY in the next season, we find out it's all been a ruse to make himself seem more interesting than he really is, and he's from Columbus, Ohio or something (I'm from Columbus, and it would be completely hilarious). I would *love* that. Also, I like that he's not with Jo anymore. (yay!)
As usual, the women of the show are completely kick-ass. Allison slamming Beverly around was a squeeful moment, although the characters fell victim to the tedious cliche of *not tying up the bad guys when you've got the chance.* Another crutch appeared when everyone raced out of the control room leaving Beverly alone, giving her the chance to escape. Oh come on. If you're going to write about smart people, how about giving them a little common sense as well? Okay? Thanks.
Zoe's character continues to delight. I think that's been the single best improvement in the show this year. Yay!
Is it wrong of me that I'm completely unimpressed with dry cleaning lady? If they deliberately chose a colorless actress for the role, they did quite well with the casting. She's very blah; Carter needs more from a woman, dammit. Cut her loose, Jack! She's not the one for you!
Also, I must comment on Michael Shanks' appearance last week as the ridiculously studly sculptor. Holy friggin' moley, he looked *great*! Whatever he's doing, he's doing it well. The arms looked truly sculpted, and the facial scruff was perfect. He looked about five years younger. Oh, Michael Shanks, how I adore you. I'd love to see him return after his character is released from jail. ;-)
Hey! Maybe the sculptor could help rebuild the crumbling infrastructure of Global Dynamics! Seriously, it could be community service as part of his sentence. He and Stark could snark at each other and the sheriff could pull them apart and the sculptor (Dactylos?) could bitch and whine about his great talent being wasted on something as mundane as construction. Brilliant idea, no? Brilliant idea, yes.

Date: 2007-10-03 05:48 am (UTC)I know! I *really* liked his character this year, the writers did a great job enriching his character. If it weren't for the Carter/Allison lurvefest I squeefully embrace, I'd be rooting for Nathan.
Michael Shanks has more time to work out now that SG is over. I'd say it was time well spent.
Seriously! He looks absolutely wonderful. I hope he gets a regular gig soon. I'd *love* to see him turn up as a regular on the show, but I won't hold my breath. :-(

Date: 2007-10-03 03:17 pm (UTC)Ronon the Golden God? Eeeee! Jason Mamoa is ridiculously gorgeous. I'd love to see the commotion he'd make in Eureka. ;-)
Ben Browder would be fantastic. I could see him as Carter's brother or cousin, maybe an agent like Carter used to be...he comes in for a consult and hilarity ensues! Or...he comes in for a consult, Allison finds herself attracted and mega-angst ensues.
