This marks my fourth birthday with you. I admit, my birthday greeting in 2001 sucked mightily. 2002 was much better - I still love that CD I whipped up for you. Last year I reiterated the fact that I simply adore you. So here it is, the third year and fourth birthday that I'm a head-over-heels, dyed in the wool fan. What to say?
When I first became curious about pop fandom, it was because of comments made in a mailing list I frequented at the time. I wondered about this guy that some labeled as not too smart, and that others commented had hamster teeth. Curious, I Googled NSync - I'd heard of the group, just hadn't paid much attention - and brought up some pictures. And read a few interviews. And became immediately smitten. I've been a JC girl since the first. The other guys never had a chance.
Chasez, you've given me so much joy that I can't even properly put it into words. I know because I've tried, numerous times, and no matter how much I gush, it will never, ever touch the depth of feeling that I have for you.
I don't know you, I never will. I know you're not perfect, but is anyone? For what you *do* give me, however, you are perfect. Your talent is amazing, both as a singer and a songwriter. You're a dancer. You're a producer. You don't think much of yourself as an actor, but yes, you ain't too shabby in that department either.
You're a consummate professional and you love what you do, and that's infectious. You stand up for yourself and your friends, and you stick up for what you believe in. You love your family fiercely, and it's obvious that they think you're pretty special, too...and you are. I've said it on more than one occasion, but you are an A-number one class act, baby.
My journal is pretty much an open love letter to you. There's so much about you that I admire, not the least of which are the class and grace with which you've handled yourself publically this past year. I can't imagine what it must have been like to lay your heart on the line for this album time and time again, giving 150% each time. You deserve so much better than you've had, and if it were in my power, I'd give it to you. About the only thing I can do, however, is wish you a heartfelt "Happy birthday" and hope that the years ahead bring you everything you desire and the solo success you deserve.
