Janet Jackson to host 'SNL,' cross our hearts
Put the kids to bed early, because come April 10, Janet Jackson will host NBC's "Saturday Night Live."
It will be Jackson's first television performance since Feb. 1, when Justin Timberlake unleashed her breast during the halftime show at the Super Bowl.
Expect "SNL" gagsters to poke fun at Jackson and her breasts.
A few years ago, just as speculation swirled about Britney Spears' assets, producers had her appear on stage while her breasts grew, thanks to special effects.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck, another gossip magnet, will host the March 13 edition of
"SNL."
This week, actor Colin Firth is the host, with Norah Jones as the musical guest.

Fandom meme...?

Ten fandom moments, baby.
Mar. 5th, 2004 07:12 pmTen memorable fandom moments. Other than number one, when I first found that fandom existed, these are in no particular order.
1) When I first found fandom, and about five minutes later, when I first found *slash* fandom. I'd started watching Hercules and Xena pretty regularly, and wanted to know a bit more about Kevin Smith, the guy who played Ares. Did some Google searches, followed some links, got excited when I saw that fanfic existed. Fic! Other people were doing it, not just me! Then the inevitable happened: I followed a link for the Ares Rules Erotica Society (A.R.E.S.). A few more links, a pair of wide eyes and a dropped jaw later, I found slash and was hooked. Hooked, baby. Fished in.
2) The first time I heard Blowin' Me Up. I was half-scared, thinking I might hate it. JC's first solo stuff! But when I heard the first notes, those funky tuba farts, I just had to smile. And his voice! I grinned all the way through the song.
3) The first time I heard JC's vocals-only files for F.O.G., especially the Chorus background files. Such an amazing voice - it was the first time I'd heard him singing alone (harmonizing with himself) a capella. I listened to it non-stop for hours. My favorite of the files that were released.
4) The BeeGees tribute at the Grammys, the first time the guys had sung together in about a year. They looked *wonderful*, they sounded great, and the audience (and Barry Gibb) loved them. They nailed it. One of my favorite fan moments.
5) Hercules/Xena convention in NYC a few years ago. *Mad* fun! Met a ton of KSA (KevinSmithAres) mailing list people I'd only "talked" to online. Fen in NY, there was nothing like it. Other than meeting listsibs, the highlight was seeing Kevin Smith (Ares) in the flesh. Too completely beautiful, and I spaced big time in the autograph line.
6) The evening I heard that Kevin Smith (Ares) had been severly injured in China on a movie set. A few hours later I was absolutely stunned to hear that he'd died.
7) When I got Schizophrenic. I bought my copy a few days before the rest of the fandom, and spent the evening listening to the record and typing up and posting those microscopic liner notes!!! Spent the weekend looking for reviews and visiting message boards and just generally having a great time because, JC! Solo album! Yay!
8) First NSync concert. I was buzzing for *days* afterward. :-)
9) When JC's clips first started showing up on Promosquad. Eeep! And the same weekend, new promo shots surfaced. Might have been the Harry Potterish ones, with the gorgeous curls and Gryffindor scarf. That was a pretty giddy weekend.
10) Within the space of a few days, I was booted off a JC board (after a week) for being a Justin-lover, and denied membership to a Justin board because I was a suspected Justin-hater.
