Saw this in
fuskeez's journal this morning, and I'm doing my part to move it along the JC Girls*NBoys LJ News Service Network (TM).
From namechanged2protectjob in a post entitled Some positive JC news!, you-know-where:
Got an email from a contact at BMG Canada this aftertoon. They have added a CD-5IN Single of Some Girls to their release schedule (complete with selection# & UPC code). So far, no release date for the single but she will let me know when she hears anything.
She explains selection number and UPC code for someone who asked:
The selection # and UPC codes are for order tracking. All CDs, DVDs, etc. get assigned a selection # and UPC code by the Label - it's an identification number. If you have a CD handy you can find the selection # usually on the spine and the UPC code on the back (it's the barcode that music retailers scan at the point of purchase - also helps track numbers for SoundScan).
DavetheDebater very helpfully adds:
This is very good because songs are released to radio long before they hit the stores as a CD single, in most cases. Expect SG very soon.
Friggin' woohoo!, man, forward progress at last! I hope...
In other news, also seen in
fuskeez's journal, and the ::shudder:: JJB, fangrrlanon posted this news from Robin Gibb's website:
Robin will be Steve Wright's guest on his afternoon show, Friday August 15th. Steve will interview Robin, AND, première Robin's fantastic new single "A Lover's Prayer" on British radio. "A Lover's Prayer" is a remake of the Bee Gees song on "Still Waters" (1997) and features guest vocals by Wanya Morris (BoyzIIMen) and Lance Bass (*NSYNC).
I am *such* a whore for Lance's voice. Really. Many heartfelt thank you's to
chased_amy for turning me on to "More Than a Feeling". Eeeeeeee, Lance's voice. I'm dying.
