Snow day!? Eh, what!?
Feb. 17th, 2003 10:43 amCan't believe it. Afer all those snarky comments about "no snowdays in my lifetime," what happens about twenty minutes after that post? Co-worker calls to say that a friend called to say she'd seen our company scroll under the "Closed" list on TV. Aiii! Full of excited disbelief, I turned the TV on to see for myself.
Snow day!
The place where I work has been around since the 1400's, and never, ever closes. A couple of years ago they (grudgingly) gave us four emergency hours due to severe weather. When was this momentous decision reached? Around 3:00 in the afternoon after most of the staff - scared silly by impending snowy doom and damned if they'd be caught at work - had left for the day. They never, ever let us off for snow. So woooooohoooooo!!!
Have spent part of the morning (small part) doing a little work-at-home work, but now I'm free to be foxmonkey. I'm updating my recs page which looks like a truck hit it. On crack when I designed it, obviously. Due to what seem to be frequent site moves, I'm no longer going to link to stories. I'll give an author name, link to the main page and a list of the sories I like there.
As Rod and Tod Flanders would say, broken links make baby Jesus cry.
It's still snowing but I'm not delusional enough to think that they'd let us get away with two snow days. No way.
Off to enjoy more of my free day home!
