Fic pimpin', and just a wee rant.
Mar. 26th, 2002 08:37 pmFIC PIMPIN'!
Pimpin' two stories of mine. Beauty. Queen. was written for the Slash-Across-America challenge; my state was Ohio. Hey! My state!
Second story being pimped is Valentine, which was to have been part of the Chasez Lake series.
I think I whined about this in an earlier LJ entry; since CL more or less follows the happenings and whereabouts of the Syncers this past holiday season, J+B threw a monkeywrench into this story when they didn't spend Valentine's Day together (oddly enough, we're probably just finding out now why they weren't together then). Anyway, since it was written ahead of time, it completely threw the story out of whack. So Valentine stands on its own.
I may or may not write something completely different to go in Chasez Lake, or I might end the series with Justin's birthday. Haven't yet decided. ::muses::
Mini-rant on: Waah! What is it about one person of a three-person team being off that inspires a second member of said THREE-person team to be off at the same time? And why does it seem to have happened two or three times in the last few months?
Is this aggravating? Yes. It's bad enough when the three of us are there, but holy friggin' cow, holding down the fort by oneself can be wiggy.
AND said second member may or may not have had a pile of old work on her desk that should have been taken care of days ago. Rather than disturb her pile (as the boss wondered if I should), it seemed to me that I'd waste valuable hours of work time just trying to figure out what needed to be done before I even started. Suffice it to say that I concentrated on whittling away my own rather formidable pile of work.
And, woohoo! My pile is lots smaller. :-) Here's hoping that the mysterious ailment/emergeny isn't repeated tomorrow. Mini-rant off.
