Miami, FL – (February 26, 2004):DanceStar USA - The American Dance Music Awards announces stellar performances for this year’s show on March 9th at Bayfront Park Amphitheater in downtown Miami. Live acts include a worldwide exclusive collaboration with Perry Farrell, Moby, Paul Van Dyk, known together as Precision Guided Musicians, performing a new electronic interpretation of the Lou Reed classic, “Walk on the Wild Side.” Additional acts include Blue Man Group performing Donna Summer's massive hit “I Feel Love”, The Crystal Method, who have been nominated for five DanceStar awards including Best Act, Best Album, Best Single and Best Video, and Motorcycle,nominated for Best Single for their dance hit, “As the Rush Comes”.
Former Baywatch beauty, Carmen Electra, will host the world’s largest televised electronic music event alongside a strong cast of celebrity presenters including Paris Hilton, Perry Farrell from Jane’s Addiction, Dave Navarro, Yoko Ono, Jaime Pressly, Boy George and Moby, plus the world’s leading DJs.

The collaboration is set to be another landmark moment for DanceStar USA. After P. Diddy's debut dance performance at DanceStar in 2003, we feel this will be one of the key events for the electronic community in 2004. Perry Farrell with Moby and Paul van Dyk is a breathtaking line-up and the enthusiasm from all involved is incredible. We feel such collaborations will help shine the light on electronic music in America.

Roger Sanchez, Peter Rauhofer, Jungle Brothers, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Carl Cox, Ferry Corsten, Victor Calderone, Sandra Collins (Best DJ 2003), Bad Boy Bill, Danny Howells, Pete Tong, Arthur Baker, Sander Kleinenberg, Maurice Joshua, DJ Rap, The Scumfrog, Ray Roc, DJ Sneak, Goldie , Cameron Douglas (son of Hollywood actor Michael), Sister Bliss (Faithless), Vic Latino (WKYU), Bartel (KKDL), DJ Lysa D (KNRJ), Cedric Gervais, Junior Sanchez, Jason Nevins.
Plus local Miami celebrities: The Skybar Girls, Ingrid Casares, Buster...plus many more.
Sirius Satellite Radio will be broadcasting a unique evening program live and backstage from this year’s show, featuring world premier interviews with the award winners and featured celebrity personalities.
With an increased contingent of credible A-list music stars coming forward to participate in DanceStar USA, this year’s show promises to be the most spectacular to date and highlights how DanceStar USA – The American Dance Music Awards has become the most significant launchpad for mainstream talent wanting to break into this music genre.
A total of twenty-five awards will be presented on the night at this year’s show including awards for new categories such as Best Use of Music in a TV Show, Best Movie Soundtrack and Best Celebrity DJ. (See full list HERE.)
Following a surge in first week ticket sales, it is advised that tickets are bought well in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets prices start at $20 (general admission). BUY HERE
Over 350,000 votes have already been registered here on dancestar.com and the race continues for dance music’s most prestigious awards, so be sure to cast your vote now.
To support this year’s show DanceStar USA will launch the first annual magazine of The American Dance Music Awards. The 100-page pocket-sized publication will represent the best in American dance music from the past year. Produced by DanceStar’s Ben Turner, founder and editor of Muzik and Pacha magazines, over 60,000 copies will be distributed free in Borders stores nationwide from March 1st. A further 20,000 copies will be distributed in South Florida during the annual Winter Music Conference week.
In other news, the 'Schizophrenic' cover uproar has shown up at two more news sites since the last update. The total is now 53 sites that have picked it up. His sales rank was at 196 at 7:00, it's at 179 now, an hour later.
