Nice write-up in a Boston paper!
Dec. 18th, 2003 08:34 pmAzila84 scanned this article from the Phoenix, a Boston paper, and posted it at the Board of Doom. 'Cause I wanted to keep it and share it, I'm typing it up.
It's a good 'un! More press like this, and he's on his way. :-)
No Strings Attached
His ol' pal Justin Timberlake proved that this is likfe after - or at least outside - NSync. But the real question for JC Chasez is whether there's room for two solo NSync stars in the 21st-century pop universe.
JC's Schizophrenic (Jive), which is due at the end of January, features production work from Rocwider, Basement Jaxx, and BT, so we're expecting it to serve up less MJ worship and more Eurotrash than Justified did. And that expectation is borne out by the first single, on which our man brushes his falsetto Latin-lover-style over a Diwali-ish bit of dancehall handclapping and offers the following pilosophical rumination: "Some girls dance with women/Knowing that it gets them attention/I want to get in with them/So pass me a drink and let's roll." We'll souse to that.
Senor Chasez shows up for a club hoo-raw tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Avalon, 15 Lansdowne Street in Boston, and tickets are $20.25; call (617) 423-NEXT.
Our man. Eeeee! Nice to see JC getting some love in the press! Our baby's gonna take over the world. :-)
Edited to add: There's a possiblity that I'm a doofus and this isn't as fun as I'd like to believe. ;-)

Date: 2003-12-18 06:24 pm (UTC)It does sound like the reviewer was trying to be hip, though. But like I said, I've seen more than enough reviews where they were *obviously* trying to sound hip and slam the guys. This isn't too bad!
