Azila84 scanned this article from the Phoenix, a Boston paper, and posted it at the Board of Doom. 'Cause I wanted to keep it and share it, I'm typing it up.

It's a good 'un! More press like this, and he's on his way. :-)

No Strings Attached

His ol' pal Justin Timberlake proved that this is likfe after - or at least outside - NSync. But the real question for JC Chasez is whether there's room for two solo NSync stars in the 21st-century pop universe.

JC's Schizophrenic (Jive), which is due at the end of January, features production work from Rocwider, Basement Jaxx, and BT, so we're expecting it to serve up less MJ worship and more Eurotrash than Justified did. And that expectation is borne out by the first single, on which our man brushes his falsetto Latin-lover-style over a Diwali-ish bit of dancehall handclapping and offers the following pilosophical rumination: "Some girls dance with women/Knowing that it gets them attention/I want to get in with them/So pass me a drink and let's roll." We'll souse to that.

Senor Chasez shows up for a club hoo-raw tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Avalon, 15 Lansdowne Street in Boston, and tickets are $20.25; call (617) 423-NEXT.

Our man. Eeeee! Nice to see JC getting some love in the press! Our baby's gonna take over the world. :-)

Edited to add: There's a possiblity that I'm a doofus and this isn't as fun as I'd like to believe. ;-)

Huh? I'm still trying to make sense of that blurb. Is it just me or does it sound a little snide? Then again Eau de Snide seems to be a must have for critics reviewing anything a Nsyncer does.

Well, considering some of the stuff I've seen passing as "reviews" of boyband-related stuff, I didn't think this was snide.

Didn't mean to sound so snippy in my first response. :-)

It does sound like the reviewer was trying to be hip, though. But like I said, I've seen more than enough reviews where they were *obviously* trying to sound hip and slam the guys. This isn't too bad!

No problem. I think I thought it snide because of the term 'Eurotrash'. Then again he referred to Justified as 'MJ worship' which shows how little the guy knows. I'm just thankful you posted this!

For some reason, I like that statement. But then again, I like Eurotrash.

:)

Hey, bad press is better than no press!

I didn't think it was bad! I think it was more like the writer was trying hard to sound hip, and failing. *g*

Diwali-ish bit of dancehall handclapping! JC's songs are being described in all sorts of interesting ways.

What an intriguing and very...uhm...complicated way of describing the song. But I definitely think it's meant to be positive. Eurotrash, as I interpret it, is not trash per se, but rather a style of music. Which can be a little trashy in the eyes of non-Europeans. If that makes any sense...

I thought that was a pretty nice little snippet -- I'm certainly not seeing much snidiness. Diwali-ish. :-)
