'NSync's JC Chasez goes solo for new album and tour
by Jon Zahlaway
liveDaily Staff Writer

November 13, 2003 03:45 PM - Following in the footsteps of fellow 'NSync member Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez drops his first solo album in January, and precedes the set with a brief club tour.

Chasez is booked to perform at small venues in Southern California, New York and Boston between Dec. 3 and Dec. 20. Fans can expect to hear material from Chasez's forthcoming solo debut, "Schizophrenic," which is due in stores on Jan. 27.

"The title comes from the different styles and attitudes that are on this album," he said in a statement. "It's gritty, it's noisy, and it is definitely not like anything I've done before."

The set includes the single "Some Girls (Dance with Women)," which features a guest appearance by rapper Dirt McGirt (a.k.a. Ol' Dirty Bastard). The song is scheduled to hit the airwaves on Dec. 1, according to Jive Records, and is currently streaming at Chasez's official website.

Chasez recently shot a video for the track with director Martin Weisz. The bi-coastal production features scenes filmed in Los Angeles and New York.

In addition to the upcoming club shows, Chasez's plans also include an appearance on the Nov. 16 American Music Awards, and the Dec. 10 Billboard Awards.

Chasez in Sync with Reality
By Gretchen Pirillo

LOS ANGELES, CA Friday 11.14.2003 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- He's played the big houses, but former 'NSYNC artist JC Chasez is quieting things down for his solo debut. Instead, he'll be premiering material from his new album, "Schizophrenic," with a short series of club shows, starting in San Diego on December 3.

With his past success with 'NSYNC, some may wonder why Chasez is seeking to perform in smaller venues in a more intimate setting. Said the modest star, in comments on VH1.com, "To me, I'm at the beginning again and I don't want to take [everything] for granted and say I'm too big for that. I actually want to earn my way up." Tickets for his tour go on sale this weekend.
