The one thing I'll never understand about the fandom is how a discussion based on differing opinions escalates the way it does. And always does. I just don't get it. I'd like to give the lot of us more credit than that.

I don't get it either. Why is X's point of view more valid than Z's? And why can't we talk about it like rational human ADULT beings? It's that herd/mob mentality, I guess, letting us down every time.
I'd like to give the lot of us more credit than that.
