Color me confused. A couple of days ago, I posted this "Some Girls #36 in America" (found at the JJB, of course). After much debate, investigative leg work and examination of the evidence, it seemed the thing might be a hoax. I checked in to the JJB this morning, and posted within this thread, saw this:

boydbunny03: "In the new issue of Blender there is a list of the 40 most popular songs in America and number 35 is Some Girls...." Someone linked her to the post I originally found, and she replied, boydbunny03: "Lol, ok thanks! I got my issue yesterday in the mail and I was reading it while I was babysitting today when I came across that. I was so confused!!"

So. Does anyone out there have this issue, and if so, will they let me know whether or not this is true? I'm all confuzzled, dammit! Thanks. :-)

And! That same post concerns Info on JC's Single.

Posted by namechanged2protectjob: "Hi all...I've been away on business for about a week so I'm a bit out of the loop on any information about JC's single. I did receive a email from BMG while I was away but all it said was JC Chasez "Some Girls" August 19th. Does this (pardon the pun) "jive" with the dates currently being reported as the drop date for the single? I'll be back in the office next week so hopefully I can get some more info..."

Hey! For anyone like me, who's wondered about the difference between the "drop date" and the "impact date" for a single, *that* info was included as well. If this post had included updates on JC's birthday celebration, it would have been, like, the post to end all current JC speculation on everything, ever.

From DaveTheDebater: "Drop and impact are two different dates. Drop is the date radio is legally allowed to play the song (big ones play a day or two early 'cause they're SOOOO cool ). The impact date is 2 to 3 weeks later, after definitely all applicable radio stations have the track and have been playing it, and impact date is when it starts being officially tracked and recorded for spin stats and Billboard positions."

Last but certainly not least, *run* to [livejournal.com profile] ciderpress's journal if you want to see additional pictures of Justin's video shoot in NY yesterday. I'd seen the same four pictures floating around...there are more. And the first and last ones? Brace yourself. GUH. God, these are just incredible. Go!

And now it's time to get ready for my real job. Oy!

Thanks for posting all that!

Oh definitely. *nods*

I'm calling Blender this morning. No. Seriously.

Because I have very limited power in the "when we can hear "some girls" on the radio nonsense but can, at least, try to find out why the heck it's on their list.

My impression was that it was a fictional list, of what they think will be hot next month. At least, from the Hillary Duff blurb I got that feeling.

I e-mailed Blender. And, if it is a "wish" list, we can only hope!

Huh. I'm gonna be really curious to see if they resopnd and what that say. I was weighing in on the side of "not real" but if it is, then I'm just mostly confused. Optimistic, but confused.

That would make sense. Except for the whole Clay Aiken/Bridge Over Troubled Water thing. That just makes zero sense.

What's usually on this page in Blender?

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, but I got my copy of Blender in the mail today and it DOES have JC listed as the #35 most popular song in America. So, the scan that you posted the other day is legit. So weird. I have no idea how they determine this list, but it really makes no sense whatsoever.

YAY!!! Thank you. Sorry to yell, but I've been waiting to hear one way or another if this was a scam. Woohoo!

And of course I thought of this after my first comment...does it match the scan in my first post? Do you have plans to scan if you have the capability?

I don't have a scanner (unfortunately), but the entire page is *exactly* the same as the scan that you had posted, even though the title of JC's CD is wrong and stuff. I guess Blender needs some better fact checkers!

I'm still curious as to how they determine this list, but what I'm really hoping that it holds true for when JC's single actually comes out. Go JC!
