JC on Tom Green!
Jul. 29th, 2003 05:10 pmHome from work, and finally saw the tape.
Oh. My. God. Yes, he looks *so* good. Two things:
Is he bow-legged? Walking to the aquarium he looked deliciously wide-legged. Mmm, love me a bow-legged man.
Loved the breath-holding competition. The coolest thing? I'm pretty sure that he could have gone on quite a bit longer, had Tom not been clapping and saying "wow". I think JC made his point and then cut it short, judging from the slow, relaxed way he came out of the water. He could do at least two minutes, easy.
The "I luff you, Justin," thing...too freakin' cute. He's fried my brain at least a million times since I became a fan. At least. This solo thing is going to kill me. KILL ME. Loved his hands, especially the left, with the ring on the index finger. His hair looked good, and that smile! How anyone can resist him is beyond me. He's just...so JC. I love him.
scot_ty's posted her observations (she was at the taping! No, I'm not jealous!) here.
parlance posted her at-the-show observances on the TOFTC maling list today. She gave me permission to add them here, behind this fabulous cut-away. :-)

Thanks to her for the okay to pass this along in LJland. :-)

As for my report, the TV just doesn't do JC justice. I was occasionally watching the playback screen and then looking at the real thing... for lack of a better word, he's just vibrant.
I wasn't sure if I was going to go when I was still posting to the list around noonish. Between Duran and Nsync, I'm so sick of doing any waiting on behalf of celebs, I'm waited out. I got there an hour before they let people in, and was kind of surprised that people weren't camping out and it was relatively easy to get in, considering the set was very small. I don't think there were more than 150-200 people inside at the most.
While we were waiting, I swapped stories with a couple of other older fans and one of the audience pages gushed about JC and told us that Lance was very nice but he'd arrived with a huge entourage. I also learned that Lance may not be quite as nice to his fans if they have the misfortune of catching him when he's drunk, so there's a tip for you. Makes me wonder if he was drunk when he told his mom to come upstairs with the VIPs at the Krave party.
I don't want to rehash things from the show, so as for the behind-the-scenes stuff I can recall:
- We gave JC a standing ovation just for showing up and again for winning the breath-holding contest. We're such sheep. ;->
- JC and Glenn (Tom's sidekick) engaged in animated conversations between breaks, wish the mike was turned up. :->
- We did not get to see who JC's surfboard buddy is, darn.
- I had a great view of the breath-holding contest. That was freakish. He was so Zen about.
- As Dawn put it, "So if he can hold his breath that long... that means...?" I'm so proud of Dawn, she's taking so well to being a slasher-in-training. I guess the 3 deep breaths rule applies here to?
- My favorite off-camera thing was JC's reactions to Christopher Titus. I wish they'd shown them. He turned into this wilting flower at the off-color jokes, he was so taken aback. Especially the one about being ashamed to be a Peckerwood. He just sat there blinking his eyes with a wan smile that was like, "Oh, my, I'm getting the vapors." He's such a
*girl.*
- I don't know if this got cut off, but on the van, JC painted what can only be described as a sperm, and then wrote "I wuz here."
No one got to talk to JC that I'm aware of - he left right after the show and we had to remain seated for Tom to tape promos. That was painful. We actually had to be told to remain seated because it was quite clear we weren't there for Tom.
In Tom's defense, though, I was impressed that he stuck around and shook everyone's hand as we exited, and he put his hand on my back after I thanked him. A bit of class I wasn't expecting from him. I may be on board for Tom Green slash after tonight's "fantasy hotel" gag with Glenn, and I'm quite aware that's a scary thought.

With a nod back to Scotty: All JC, baby. All the friggin' time.

Date: 2003-07-29 04:29 pm (UTC)He has such a competitive streak but in a subtle manner. Makes you wonder how he is at the studio. I love how he psyched Tom out by taking Tom's usual side. Boy knows how to play.
