Scotty just posted about this in her journal, and I'm about to do the same.

I don't know about you, but some days I really want to leave fandom. Seriously. You're grooving along, doing your thing and then something slaps you right in the face. Hard.

Someone approaced ScotMonk Productions (Scotty and I) about an hour or so ago by email. This person wants to create a Bassez version of Stop the Presses. She said that she would respect our wishes if the answer was negative.

Stop the Presses is our baby, and I wasn't thrilled that someone wanted to co-opt the idea, to tell you the truth. Scotty and I got on AIM to talk about it. Scotty felt the same way I did about it. We talked about it, worked through our feelings on the matter, and Scotty came up with a solution that would have benefitted all parties concerned.

Imagine my surprise when, even after being assured that this hinged on ScotMonk approval, I found a locked post dedicated to this very subject, complete with a poll for opinions. Seems to me that this person had pretty much decided to go ahead with her plans regardless of anything Scotty or I had to say on the matter.

So yeah, this is one of those days where you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. It hurts that Scotty and I took this other person's feelings into account when we discussed the situation, but we weren't given the same consideration.

It hurts that Scotty came up with a pretty good plan of action that everyone would have been happy with, only to find out that it was a complete waste of time, anyway.

Yeah. This is definitely one of those days when being a part of fandom sucks a huge, smelly, smegma-covered cock.
