So...I may or may not be (finally) reading Twilight. ::looks shifty:: I started reading before work this morning, and again after I got home. I'm about halfway through the book, and I have to admit that I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. But! A few things do niggle. Cutting for those who are allergic to niggles.

You can't tell me that the author has never read or written fan fic. 'Cause truly, the thing is pretty ficcy in places, and she uses a lot of the fic-isms that drive me crazy.

- Pinching the bridge of one's nose to denote irritation, impatience, blahblahblah...

- Someone doing something in one switft/fluid/blahblahblah movement.

- An irritated girl "stomping" away from someone or something.

- Amber/topaz/butterscotch/blahblahblah eyes. Enough already, I get it! At least she hasn't used "orbs" yet. OMG, if she does, don't tell me.

- Because Mary Sue's got flaws now, the heroine is not perfect, so in this case she is adorably clumsy. As with the amber/butterscotch eyes, enough already, I get it!

- Someone being so shocked, surprised or stunned that they cannot move or speak. Because this usually stretches into unnaturally (read = unrealistically) long moments of time, the other person in the scene reads the situation the wrong way and hilarity does not ensue. Aiiiii! Will this NEVER die?

- Uh...I think that's it.

The overall writing style shades into ficcishness in places, but mostly I'm being entertained. Robert Pattinson was the perfect choice for Edward; the casting director probably burst into flames when he walked through the door. And seriously, he could have gotten the part for his hair alone. ;-)

Yes, the writing leaves something to be desired, but you will get sucked in!!! LOL

And yes, Rob is the perfect Edward. I don't see how people were against him getting the role at first.

The books are a good read, especially the first one. After that, the series gets a bit silly. They are the kind of books that suck you into the world easily. But be prepared to get very annoyed with the main characters as the books continue.

Stay out of the fandom. It's worse than DW with it's batshit shipping.

I can't wait to see what happens when you finish Twilight. LOL

I didn't mind New Moon the movie but New Moon the book pissed me off. I really enjoyed Eclipse. Breaking Dawn though...don't get me started.

After you are finished, it will make you want to read Descent all over again. LOL

I really liked Twilight. I hated with a passion New Moon. I love Eclipse. Breaking Dawn is seriously bad!fic crack.

Twilight movie is okay, New Moon is very good...that director took crap and made a decent movie.

Rob is a pefect Edward, and Kristen is a pretty perfect Bella.
