Supernatural is clearly the best show on television -- and this may just go down as one of my favorite episodes of the best show on television. (I've already watched it twice!) My thoughts after the cut, but first: it's ridiculous how much squee I get out of the Impala sporting Ohio license plates. ::rocker face and devil horns hands::
I was a-feared at first that the episode was going to be very, very Dean-and-Sam lite. I was wrong! Yay! Working from memory...
1) Loved, loved, loved that the Ghostfacers were whispering into their cameras and being all covert and stuff while breaking in, and Dean-n-Sam came tooling onto the scene with "American Band" blasting from the speakers. BWAHAHAHA! The Winchesters are the baddest, baby. Also, Grand Funk Railroad! Coolness points, not that the Winchesters need them. ;-)
2) CURSING! Totally and completely loved the bleeped-out swearing because I am a 12 year old boy at heart.
3) Dean has two more months. :-(
4) Dean is beautiful. Dean is also belligerent and cantankerous, and at 28, he's already the cranky 80 year old guy who complains about kids losing their balls in his yard. I friggin' love Dean. And since you can't have one without the other, I must say again that Jensen Ackles is an absolute joy to watch.
5) Sam! I will never, ever get tired of the boys bellowing out each others' names.
6) When Dean moves the cabinet from in front of the hidden door... "You're strong." "Shut up." Bwahahaha! Oh, Dean.
7) Poor Corbett! I was sad when Corbett died, but thought it was sweet that the bearded Ghostfacer dude gave his death echo a little gay lovin' in order to cross over.
8) Yay! Corbett's ghost saves the day!
a. Loved the shot from Corbett's camera of Corbett launching himself across the floor toward the other ghost. Dead Corbett in the foreground (beautifully creepy) and Dead!Corbett in the background. Verra nice.
b. How much did I love it when the two Winchester brothers moved in for a manly hug and Dean held his hand up in front of the camera? Ahahahaha! Man, I *love* this show.
9) Absolute genius, having the opening credits come up at the end -- which of course, is when Supernatural started. Admittedly, I'm probably the biggest nerd/geek on the planet to have gotten so much enjoyment out of that, but truly, you've got to love the attention to detail. Perfection!
This is the one episode that was almost a bit too dark for me, lighting-wise, though my current vision woes may have something to do with it. Other than that, I loved it! I'm at two viewings and counting...

Date: 2008-04-26 03:26 am (UTC)This episode kicked "Mystery Spot" out of whatever place it held in my favorites hierachy. :-D LOVE! MASSIVE, SQUEEFUL LOVE! I just read one of your entries, the one where you wonder how you missed the SPN goodness for two years. I swear, I'm wondering what the hell took *me* so long. This show is genius.
