NSync squeeage aplenty!
Mar. 16th, 2002 06:37 pmBefore I begin, how the hell do you come back from a cutaway??? I've tried three or four things, but I can't seem to add further text to an entry following a cutaway, because everything after the tag gets hidden. I've seen other people do this, so I know it's possible. Help a sister out, somebody!
On with the journal entry.
Let's see. First off, Sync!mail from the land up north, and there was much squeeage across the land...and it was good! :-) Thank you, strippedhalo. *mwah!
Second off, my second drabble! It's a TrickyKitten called Interest. Drabbles are fun!
Third off, my views on the Brit/Justin thing. Yes, it's sad that the entire world is watching their relationship break down (because yeah, I think there's truth to it). BUT...they've always had the option of cutting interviewers off with a polite, "Hey, private life private, thanks," and further refusing to acknowledge invasive questions. So, very public romances unfortunately lead to very public breakups. Sorry, kids.
I wondered why Brit seemed to be the only one actively denying the rumors. Shouldn't Justin have been doing his share to downplay the rumors if they weren't true? Hmmm.
Someone reported that at soundcheck, Justin told some guy to "stay away from girls." Heard a report that at the Vegas soundcheck, two girls asked Justin to their prom. Rather than hit us with the usual thousand-megawatt Timberlake smile and a demure, "Brit probably wouldn't go for that," he said, "I'm up for that."
And most interesting of all, Justin wearing a t-shirt that says, "Got a sister?" The boy's telling the world that he's a free man! I hope that shirt didn't hurt JC's feelings. :-D
Here's Justin's declaration of independence:

Date: 2002-03-16 04:34 pm (UTC)I wondered about this, too. Because he's very clearly leaving her in the lurch by not saying anything. If he's of the mindset of, "I don't owe anybody shit when it comes to this. They want answers about my personal life, I don't have to give them out," then I respect that, but I also know he must realize what position that puts Brit in. Even if they're really still together, you'd think he wouldn't want all the weight to be on her.
If he's mad at her and generally feels like, "fuck this all, dude," then I can see him not giving a damn how this affects her. I don't think that makes him an asshole ex-boyfriend, either, because I'm sure he has his reasons, but it seems like a huge mess waiting to happen (if they do in fact ever confirm the breakup publicly).
Ooookay, time to stop thinking about the "lovebirds" ... they annoyed me together, anyway. They were supposed to be the ultimate dream couple, but I found nothing inspiring or original about their relationship. Just because they're two beautiful people together doesn't mean that they're beautiful together, content-wise. They have so much to learn about life.
