I want to believe.
Mar. 3rd, 2002 04:55 pmEveryone's probably heard about Justin's defense of the others in the face of MTV's unbelievably slanted (tilted, practically horizontal) "news" piece about Justin's solo foray. I have never wanted to see MTV crash and burn as much as I do right now.
Anyway, according to a couple of lists, Justin phoned in an interview with some Philly radio station, and said the following very lovely things when asked about the MTV piece regarding the "other four" being replaceable:
"I could hang up you right now and end this interview if you say anything like that to me."
"I am always in Nsync first, no matter what people what to say or crap they start, my friends know where I stand and I know where they stand."
And when asked about Lance going into space, said, "This will make him so happy, if it happens I will be happy, of course terrified, but happy."
This has made a lot of fans, myself included, very happy. It sounds like Justin, I mean, I can imagine those words coming out of his mouth, being very pissed off at some of the things that have been said in the last few days. I want to believe that this is real, but I can't.
As is the case with urban legend type tales, the only people who've heard this have been "friends" of other people. Philly is a big town; wouldn't more people be talking about having heard this themselves? I haven't seen anything like that, has anyone else?
I checked out the website of the station that supposedly aired this interview, Q102, and didn't see a single thing about it. With that kind of scoop, shouldn't it be all over the website? I did find this, a story about how Britney didn't sit with Justin at the Grammys - which was interesting, but not what I was looking for. It's near the end of the page, by the way. You can't miss it; they used a mocked-up pic of Brit and Justin together. Which makes me realize (and I hadn't thought about it until I saw the created pic) that I haven't seen a ton and a half Grammy-related pics of Brit and the boys. Hmmm. Anyway.
So, faced with a resounding lack of evidence that this interview really happened, I can't really let myself feel as good as I would if I'd seen Justin saying it on MTV. Or seen a blurb (or heard a soundbyte!) on the station's homepage. Or if hundreds of fans in Philly had been crashing EZBoard forums saying they'd heard it.
I so want to believe this is real, but I can't.
If someone out there has heard differently, has seen evidence that this is real, please enlighten me! I've seen some nasty stuff with fans starting rumors lately, and I'm hoping this isn't something along the same lines.
