Oh my GOD, I feel like warmed-over crap. Actually, scorched, burnt, left-out-overnight-on-the-counter, kind of warmed-over crap. Yes, it's the time of the month when my uterus decides it's time to put on a pair of drag queen size 13 platform spikes and stomp around for a little while. My uterus is a BEEYOTCH, in case you were wondering. While I'm dissatisfied with a body part or two like most of the rest of the population, I actively hate my uterus with the passion of a thousand burning suns. I am woman, indeed. I am cranky woman in pain. Bite me.

Because I am helpful when it comes to helping others write fic, I'm pimping what looks like a pretty fun idea. Seen in schocolate's journal, presented here to help it encircle the world:

The Doctor Who Multifandom "Choose Your Own Companion" Ficathon...

So the challenge is simply this -- if you're interested, pick a Doctor and a companion or companions from somewhere else in fandom and write a story or vignette about that combination of characters. Your story doesn't necessarily have to explain how a companion joined the Doctor: you can just take it as read that they did at some point, and write about how that relationship works (or doesn't).

*My* Doctor, Nine, the only Doctor I've ever seen, and my very favorite doctor, Dr. Daniel Jackson! Could you imagine Daniel traveling with Doctor Who? I think he'd love it. I'm not sure how the Doctor would take to Daniel though. Would they be friends? Would they drive each other crazy? Would they hump like crazed weasels against the side of the Tardis? I wonder.

JC! Word around LJ is that his latest (LOCKED, I might add) blog entry is cuter than cute, and that he's completely adorable - but we knew that already. Blast it, I don't want to get a myspace to keep up with the Chasez, dammit. ;-p

Oh. OH. Fox, you're onto something very interesting there! I wonder if they'd get along very well. That Doctor is like an extreme version of Jack! Ohhhhh. Go for it! I'd love to see what you come up with. They might just antagonize each other to death!

And that's the thing...I can see it both ways. I can see how the Doctor might find Daniel's personality and abilities to be delightful, fun and invigorating. I can also see how the Doctor (Nine!) Jack-to-the-extremeism might get under Daniel's skin. Overall though, I think they'd be great companions. Hmmmm. I wish I had a clone who'd write this for me. ;-)

Yes, it *must* be Nine! Ten would flitter about and not pay attention to Daniel at all. ;) I do agree though, whether they'll bicker or get along, they'd make wonderful companions.
