L-word musings. Rambling? Rants, kinda.
Mar. 13th, 2006 08:02 pmDude, what's with the influx of penises on the L-Word? I hope it's a trend they'll nip in the bud next season. I like my lesbians pure and unadulterated, thanks. I had the same quibble with Queer as Folk - I had absolutely no interest in Lindsay and Melanie. I was all about the bois! Anyhoo.
Kat and Angus continue to be the cutest thing on the planet. They are sooooo sweet, and contrary to my statement above, that's one penis I'd like to see more of in the future - so to speak. :-)
I'd *really* like it if Moira/Max disappeared over the summer. That character drives me right around the bend, and I don't need to see any more of her story or her journey. Please. Please.
CARMEN! Carmen drives me crazy, though I don't know if I need to see her booted off the island. I think I like her as a character, but I *hate* her with Shane. I especially hated that after all the shit she dumped on Shane for cheating - including the ridiculous rebuff after her dream - it turns out that she cheated too. What? What the hell? I'd have loved it if Shane had kicked her to the curb. Instead, according to clips for next season, she asks Carmen to marry her. 1, 2, 3...WTF? Please. Please let them break up. Please. Please? Also, I love Shane.
Helena's been broken, and I hope that chick's husband pays dearly. WHAT SCUM. Anyway, weren't signs pointing toward Helena and Alice getting together? It'd be nice to see that explored next season, even if it's only one hilariously disastrous date.
Alice! I absolutely love Alice, she's the cutest thing ever. I want her to be happy, though her personal story ended on a very sad note. Which brings us to
Waaaah! They killed Dana! Those bastards! Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaana! I especially liked Katherine Moennig's (Shane) take on the whole thing (in cast interviews after the episode aired): "I don't like it. I don't agree with it."
Bette and Tina! Yay, Bette's going to leave Tina! I'm so happy because I can't stand Tina! Also, I love Bette.
I'd intended to post on SG-1 as well, but my brain hurts after this unexpected burst of energy.

Date: 2006-03-14 02:32 am (UTC)I'm still enjoying it enough to watch, even with all might ranting. I'm still at the point where I enjoy it more than I hate it. Another thing that saves it for me is that the time seems pretty evenly distributed among the different storylines, so I don't have to watch *huge* chunks of a story or character that interests me less than the others.
