Watched the last half of Eyes Wide Shut this morning. Speaking of eyes wide shut, I wish mine had been when I saw this posted in the guide. That way I'd have passed it by. Aiiiii!

Is it me, or did that screenplay suck a million smegma-fied monkey balls??? I swear, half the dialogue was made up of Tom Cruise's character repeating what someone had already said.

Actress: "I have to go downtown tomorrow."

Dr. Bill (stares at Actress in an extremely wooden way): "You have to go downtown tomorrow?"

Actress: "Yes, I need to get tomatoes. Do you want to go?"

Dr. Bill: "Do I want to go?"

Aiiiii! Kill me now! Better yet, kill *him*!

And also, the man has two expressions. He's not on my list of favorite actors, but I really liked Minority Report and. Hmmm. Something else he was in. But OY, with the agony of wooden acting in this one! Director's fault, maybe? Yikes.

I agree, the movie sucks ass. The only scene worth a shit is the orgy! *laughs* I've seen the movie a couple of times now (because it always seems to be on in the hotel in the middle of the night when I can't sleep!) and I still don't get the plot.

That's the only movie that I've ever wanted to walk out of in my entire life. Unfortunately my friend drove, and she wanted to see the whole thing. I think she was waiting for a plot to develop.

Figures, because that's the part I missed. ;-) I remember all the hoo-hah before it came out, about the nakeyness and the closed set and all, so I was curious. I figured I'd missed it since I was about halfway in when I started watching.

That's why I kept watching, because a lot of movies you can still pick up on and enjoy even halfway through. I'm going, "weh?" And honestly, Tom Cruise's performance didn't help in the least. Bleh.

Yes! That's what kept me watching, that trainwreck factor, just waiting for it to get better, thinking it *surely* couldn't be as bad as it was playing out.

That movie made me want to poke my eyes out. I saw it in the theater with my mom and my aunt and I think we spent most of the time laughing at how awful it was.

Surprised that movie didn't ruin Tom Cruise's career. It's that bad.

Grim combination of over-rated actor and long past his over-rated prime director.

LOL! I probably would have laughed if I hadn't been confused and horrified. ;-)

Confused: What the hell's going on?

Horrified: Eeee! Horrible acting! Horrible script! Why am I watching this!?

Icon-wise, I love your little poufy-haired Orlando. What a cutie he is. :-)

My eyes! I've never been overly impressed with Tom Cruise, but holy jeebus, I couldn't believe how awful this was. He used one facial expression, two if you count the non-look plus red eyes and a few tears. Tom Cruise. *Tom Cruise*! Who in the world thought he'd be a good choice for that part!?

It's *worse.* I know I'd probably never offer him a role if that's the only thing I'd seen! Stunningly bad.

Director's fault, maybe? Yikes.

I hate Kubrick with the passion of a million burning suns, but I will say this about him: he usually draws out a good performance from his actors.

It's just that Tom Cruise is downright awful.

That was flat-out the worst performance of his I've ever seen. Good lord.

You're right... his performance pretty well sucked. Could he have been more pretenious and boring?

The orgy scene was cool, though. He's just walking through this huge mansion and people are fucking everywhere. Everyone was wearing masks, of course, kind of adding to the mystique. I liked it! Now, if it's on, I'll watch that part, then shut it off! ahahaha!
