I haven't offered any thoughts thus far because I can only take so much. When I hear about stuff like that, my brain reaches a certain tolerance level and anything after that? Does not process. Same with this. I was absolutely horrified by what I'd heard, and that was before I read [livejournal.com profile] lain7's first row account of the ugliness that went on. Well, I read it today and like most of you, I have no words.

Justin finished like a trouper, despite, no doubt, being furious, scared, and just plain disbelieving what was going down. And *that's* one of my favorite things about NSync. Every single one of them is a consummate professional, and that's why everyone who's ever worked with them has nothing but the highest praise for them. When people ask me if I'm a fan? I'm proud to say, "Hell, yeah!"

Because of my brain-can't-take-anymore attitude, I barely skimmed a lot of the news accounts about what happened. But today, my hometown paper printed a blurb about the aftermath, how cool the Stones were to Justin. This may or may not be news to anyone out in LJ land, but after reading this account, Justin just gained a new fan: Mr. Foxmonkey. Never thought it would happen. :-)

Taking a lot of garbage

Pop singer Jsutin Timberlake, swimming upstream against a tide of rock 'n' rollers, was pelted with refuse by crowds at Wednesday's SARS benefit concert, dubbed SARStock, in Toronto. ... Timberlake dodged water bottles and other garbage flung by hateful rock fans and winced at their jeers, the Internet Movie Database reported.

::snip::

None other than the Rolling Stones stuck up for him, though, inviting Timberlake back onstage during their gig that night to join Mick Jagger on Miss You. Guitarist Keith Richards angrily motioned to the crowd to show Timberlake some respect when a few more bottles flew in his direction. Timberlake hugged Jagger and thanked each Stone by his first name before exiting.

That was really cool of Keith Richards to stick up for him.

I'd love to know what those angry gesutures consisted of. *g* But yes, I agree completely with you statements. Justin's professionalism in the face of such animosity really made a positive impression on me.
