BB: JC, how you feeling this morning, brother?
JC: I'm doing good, man.
BB: Man, you're a sexy motherfucker.
*laughter*
===
BB: Now what's going on, man. What brings you to LA, brother?
JC: Uh, I'm out here recording right now with a buddy of mine named Dallas.
===
BB: Now are you working on your solo album also?
JC: Um, well, who knows. At first, we were just doing a song that um === for the movie Drumline === but now everybody keeps putting heat on me cause it's this new song and everybody likes it and everybody wants to hear more. So um, I'm gonna see where the road takes me.
BB: Now doing just a solo, as for a single for the soundtrack, does that give you like, that bug like, where you like, maybe I can go out and knock out a whole album?
JC: Um, you know what, I'm constantly writing anyway, and it's like, it's a matter of demand. If people wanna hear more, I'll send more their way. I actually started a website though, which is like a writers forum and I'll be putting originally material on that. So people can give their feedback on the song -- what they like about it and then I'll end up doing remixes according to the fan input. So I'll be doing that.
Liz: Vocally, you're so strong too. You're very stand out, you know, when *NSYNC first started.
JC: Yeah.
Liz: So, you definitely have a career in solo, I would think.
BB: But just standing on stage, one day not looking back and seeing the other members there, that doesn't make you nervous at all?
JC: Nuh, I mean it does. You know, cause they're my family.
BB: What if you look back when we were there?
JC: I would probably be very scared.
*laughter*
===
BB: Yeah, all the germs and stuff === yeah, yeah.
Some guy in the backround: Slow down, JC slow down!
*laughter*
*panting*
LDJ: Puddles of sweat.
BB: Hey man, do you ever trip off sometimes, man, on the success of *NSYNC?
JC: Um, sometimes, it's like, I try to keep my eyes forward. I try not to look back to offend. But you know, it's nice. Like, sometimes my Mom will put together a scrapbook together or something of all the different things I've done. She'll go ,"Honey, I'm really proud of you" and that makes me feel good. Like when my parents are around proud.
BB: What about privacy?
JC: Privacy. Oh, I'm a quiet guy so, I have no problem getting my privacy. I'm pretty good. I'm not one of those guys that hands out my number everywhere I go.
BB: Not anymore! You crazy! You guys crazy!
*laughter*
BB: Yeah but just, like if I see you in the mall, I would know. I would say, "hey, man" you know --
JC: Maybe, maybe not. I might have a hat on, I might have a turtle neck on. So, I'm good at keeping -- I'm a regular looking dude. I not like, I don't have bright blond spikes or anything like that.
BB: Right, right. Saving that for the solo project. Like man, "see the blond spikes! He was dropping us little hints, right now."
*laughter*
Guy in the backround: He has a mohawk now!
BB: This boy is crazy as hell! Where would you like to see the direction of your music going, if you say, "okay, this is my thing?"
JC: You know what, I'm a go with the flow kind of guy no matter what happens. And I'm in influenced by so many different styles of music. I want to put together a collective mix of music. I wouldn't want to stay to one fashion because I like to sing so many different ways and write so many different ways.
BB: What's in your CD player right now? If you were to jump into your car, what would be in there?
JC: I actually have a 80's CD.I was listening to the White Horse this morning.
BB: You gotta do it. As long as you were listening to it, don't do the White Horse.
JC: No no nah.
*laughter*
BB: So does this like, put an *NSYNC album on a back burner? With Justin doing his thing and a possibility of you doing yours?
JC: Well, *NSYNC in my mind will never be on the back burner. I mean, that's where it all came from. That's where it all started and those guys are my best friends in the whole world. But um, you know, it's just about scheduling now, J's gonna be on tour during the summer and everything like that. And we were thinking about working on something in the fourth quarter already. It was kind of in that mind set, so that's plenty of time to
do whatever.
Another DJ: Now if you do do a solo album, what direction of music do you wanna go?
BB: Didn't I just ask that question?
*laughter*
Some guy: No
*mumbling*
BB: Would you like to answer the same question?
*laughter*
JC: No it's === basically, it will just be something that's fun. And I'm not gonna be able to predict it, I'm just gonna do whatever.
Liz: How you ghost written for alot of people?
Another DJ: Didn't I just ask that question, Liz?
*lots of laughter*
JC: No, Um, I've written for other people, been involved with different things. But right now, like I said -- I've always been writing, I'll always continue to write. Whatever comes out, comes out.
BB: Now with the solo project, man, do you ever think about one day you'll be on stage and you're gonna look back and your guys ===
*laughter*
JC : Uh, see, this is the ===
Liz Déjà vu, guys?
BB: Hey man, we gotta get into the single now right now, man. Would you like to introduce it for us, JC?
JC: Uh, this song is the first single off the Drumline soundtrack, it's called Blowin Me Up.
*goes into BMU*
BB: It is going down up in here. JC in the neighborhood. Have you shot the video for that yet?
JC: I'm shooting it on Wednesday.
BB: Alright yeah, we got some choreagraphy that we gotta do man.
*JC laughs*
Guy in the backround: That just sounds like it's gonna be a great video.
BB: Yeah, it's just the whole breakdown === when it broke down, man, I was going through alot of things in my mind. We gotta bring to the screen, JC.
Liz: The style reminded me a little bit of a Prince song, like his later stuff. But it was very catchy, I like that, it's hot.
BB: We ain't gonna do the whole... ass off the jeans thing.
*laughter*
Liz: Yeah! Don't do that.
JC: I'm not wearing the ice skater outfit.
BB: No no, we don't want you to === Yeah, that's been taken. We gonna take a small commercial break, we coming back with more JC in the neighborhood.
*goes to commercial break*
JC: Oh, here we go.
BB: People know, Okay, *NSYNC, that you guys got a little bit of money tucked away. So your gifts become better then other peoples.
JC: No, I mean --
BB: No you know they do.
JC: It just depends. I don't really think in terms of dollars, I just think like, if people want === yeah, I see.
BB: It's crazy because, you get somebody something real lovely, and they get you a like a pencil sharpener.
*laughter*
BB: Now we also gotta talk about Drumline. You say that you're single is for Drumline, the movie. Now what is Drumline?
JC: Drumline is actually -- it's a film that was produced and CO-written by Dallas Austin --
BB: Dope.
JC: When he called me into do tha song he was like, we really need a song for that scene so we wrote it for that scene. But um, it's a great movie, you know what -- it really highlights music and young peoples struggles. *he continues to talk about what the movie is about*
BB: Dallas Austin, very involved in that?
JC: He's the producer, he did the soundtrack, everything, I mean --
BB: Wow. That's a cool cat.
JC: I think he's one of the most underrated cats out there.
BB: Yeah man. But you know one thing --
JC: Everybody knows who he is, but he's not like, all up in your face like all the other producers. *mumbles*
Liz: JC, who's a celebrity that's come up to you that's says they're a fan ===
JC: Um, I dunno, I don't- um wow -- I mean it's I don't really think about that kind of stuff. I think one of the cooler things is when you go to award shows and meet the people you've always wanted to meet and they say they resepct what you do. It's more about meeting that middle ground. === you meet somebody and they go "wow, you know what, I've listen to your stuff" and you're kind of like, you listen to my stuff?
Guy in backround: You're a fan of theirs.
JC: Yeah, exactly.
BB: That's the same way we deal with radio.
BB: We gotta take some phone calls now. Big Fuzz, you ready over there? Power 106, who's in the neighberhood?
Caller: I'm so happy JC there's though, he's my boy, I love his voice.
BB: Okay, it's about him, okay.
*JC laughs*
BB: JC's right here, love one.
Caller: Hey JC, what's up?
JC: Hey you doin, ma?
Caller: I love you. I always see your concerts cause I'm like, I love your voice but *NSYNC wasn't hittin it right. But it's okay now, I love you.
JC: Oh, well thanks, honey.
Caller: I love your voice, your so good.
JC: Thank you.
Caller: Everybody's listening to you right now. All my friends, I called everyone up. I'm like, my boy is on the radio! You gotta hear him.
JC: That was nice of you.
BB: He's not really your boy either. I told her ass -- No, thank you for the call this morning, little mama.
Caller: Oh thank you so much! I love you JC.
JC: Thanks, honey.
BB. Hell yeah. Power 106, who's in the neighborhood?
Caller: Hi, JC. I love you.
JC: Hey you doin, honey.
Caller: I saw you at the Sprite Liquid tour mix.
JC: What's that?
BB: The sprite liquid tour --
JC: Oh yeah.
Caller: Yeah. I didn't care who was singing, I waiting for you. I love you, I love your voice. Oh, I'm so nervous, I can't even talk.
JC: No stress, Ma. Uh huh, see.
*laughter*
Caller: I love your big lips.
BB: Well thank you so much!
*laughter*
*mumbles*
BB: Now everybody here is lookin at his lips!
JC: No, I'm like, ooh *starts mumbling*
BB: Everybody lookin at his lips like --
JC: A bunch of dudes lookin at my lips, man, I don't like this!
BB: I'm a single, I gotta get it where I can!
*JC laughs*
JC: No!
BB: Can you get me a close shot of his lips --
JC: NO!
BB: Get it when he's not lookin'. Power 106, who's in the neighborhood?
Caller: I got a call that JC was on the radio.

JC: Oh great.
*JC laughs*
Caller: No listen, everyone loves it.
JC: I'm glad you like it, ma.
Caller: It's got that Prince feel to it, with the moans and groans --
*laughter*
BB: That's what I'm talking about it.
Caller: The moans and groans are very good.
JC: I'm glad you like it.
BB: That person that's moaning and groaning only got paid 20 bucks for that too.
Caller: I still haven't received my check yet.
*laughter*
BB: So you out in New York right now?
Caller: I'm in New York.
BB: That's dope as hell. Well, thank you for the call.
Caller: Thank you very much. Good luck!
*goes to commercial break*
JC(About J-LO): She's a nice girl, but I can't --
*they(BB and Liz) start talking about Halle Berry*
BB: JC, we thank you for coming in the neighborhood.
JC: Thanks for having me, Man.
BB: And at any time if you do decide to do the solo project, let us know man, because we are writing songs, we're uh still choregraphing --
Liz: -- backround dancers.
Some guy in the backround: We're trying to bring back the beat box too.
JC: Oh, okay, cool.
*everyone starts talking and laughing in the backround*

Date: 2002-11-11 08:12 pm (UTC)Isn't that the truth? He's there and he's laughing, having fun, being his own sweet self, making me love him even more. :-)
He seems absolutely real and honest, that what you see is what you get with him, there's nothing hidden, no artifice. *That* is what I love about him. He's not ashamed of NSync, and jumps right in there to talk about how everything they have springs from that. And he's always talking about the guys in a positive light, I mean, he says they're his family. How sweet is that?
My love for him is growing at an exponential rate. I want to give him a huge hug and kiss on the cheek. :-)
