It doesn't rhyme. Sue me.

Hey! I'm feeling quite contrary this afternoon. Oops, evening. I've been disturbed by the sudden LJ-wide surge of affection for a certain bottle-blond rapper, and I'm not talking about Eve.

What the hell, folks? Eminem? Eh. Is he beloved because he talked smack about Chris? Come back to the SDBs, people!

Anyway, this is a GIP to show off my first (but certainly not last) Eminem icon. I think he's secretly in lust with the Syncers, and given their stormy temperaments, I think he's probably horny for Chris, this being the reason he wants to kick Kirkpatrick's ass, because how dare Chris turn him on with his sparkly gay ways! Bwahahahahaha! *cough*

Something else had me feeling cantankerously contrary but now I can't remember. Ah, yes. The Nelly song. I've listened to it a few times now, and other than Mr. Timberlake's deliriously fun vocals a la Jacksons, I'm not much feeling it. Love Justin's parts, although the high notes are a bit prominent. His lower registers would have been much better, methinks, but if I knew so much I'd be a producer, yes?

So, not crazy about the rapping, but the actual song part, I like. Kinda. All of the parts seems strung together, and not so much a cohesive whole. Hmmm.

And yes, this has gotten me a degree or two more excited for Justin's solo effort, which I'd already planned to buy. Justin!!! He's so cute. But I'm still a JC hound. JC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Word G!

Dude, hello, yeah! I wonder about that on everyday basis, I obviously have nothing better to do. :-P

Anyhoo, my friends say they like him because, apparently they seem to think he could be a boyband member if he wished (they think he's cute). And he’s “mega” talented, and says what he means/thinks (he talks smack about people in his songs, and swears a lot). [shrug]

I get a crybaby vibe from him (sorry if you like him!), like; he’s just an angry little boy. Whose mommy didn’t love him enough? [giggle] They say he “pulls no punches” with his “bold” lyrics, and how he writes songs about people he doesn’t like and yada, yada. But eh, I just think he’s a chikenshit white boy from the projects.

And weird? I’ve actually read like, three-four JC/Eminem, Justin/Eminem fics...er, um...skimmed? Har-har…:-P

See, rap's not my thing, but even with my limited experience in the area, Em hasn't impressed me much. He doesn't seem to have the same...fluidity, I guess, to his raps as others, if that makes sense. Like, Ja Rule and Nelly have got a kind of lyrical rhythm to their speech that carries their words along, but Em's just kind of there. I'm not making any sense, so I'm going to stop now. :-D

And dissing people in songs? What's talented about that?

I did see the new one the other day, and the video was amusing. But I doubt that I'll ever be a fan because I just don't see that he has any particular talent. I know that he's respected in the rap community, but eh.

Hmmm, that's an interesting thing to say. I find him very fluid with his rhymes. He rhymes very fast and overlaps ideas in a really cool way. His talent lies in his lyrics, though. His lyrics are very, very impressive, sometimes poetic. The dissing is just standard rap fare and not really what he's all about.

"Without Me" is a bad representation of Eminem, imo, b/c the song is weak, the lyrics are eh. Try "Stan," where he's actually telling a story and sending a message or "The Way I Am," where his special brand of vulnerability shows through. (I'm giving you radio-played singles b/c they'll probably be easier to find, if you were so inclined.)

Eek!

Aww man, what song do they play on the radio there for you? [pout] The radio styations play some other Justin-less song, I'm soo bitter, and envyous! :-P

[snicker, snicker] Yes, they both are pretty damn dreamy... [sigh]
