Dude. I have *so* been LJ-neglectful of late. But life's taken a major turn for the...different, plus work's been a supreme mega-bitch in pointy-toed, 6-inch spike heels. Oy, with the work stress!!! All I've wanted to do lately is come home and just not do anything. Here's hoping things quiet down a bit soon. ::crosses fingers::

And what's with Entertainment Weekly? A couple of weeks ago I received a huge notice on the back of the issue: This is your next to last issue!!! Subscribe now to continue without interruption!!! Okay, the extra exclamation points are my own emphasis. And then of course, the next issue carried even more dire warnings: THIS IS YOUR LAST ISSUE!!! DO YOU WANT YOUR SUBSCRIPTION TO END FOREVER??? SEND IN THE SUBSCRIPTION CARD TODAY SO THAT WON'T HAPPEN!!! Again, hysterical emphasis my own. Hah! Then they sent a letter re-sub letter, letting me know that sadly, my subscription had ended and unless I sent them more money, I'd never receive another EW again. Well, seeing how I only subscribed to gain access to an online article about JC - yes, I'm Chasez crazy. I know this - I figured I wouldn't miss it too much.

HAH! I didn't get an issue last week, and as I'd predicted, didn't even notice. Imagine my surprise when I found a very red, white and blue-themed EW in my mailbox this afternoon. Woohoo! Free booty! Suckers!!! Anyway.

There's an interesting little tidbit tucked away in the EW music section that brings a certain singer to mind. It's on page 87, in the Ask the Critic section, by David Browne.

Would They Be Fab Now?

If the Beatles came along today, would the industry pay them any attention at all? - Pat

"Someone would respond to the quality of their songcraft and their charisma. But the hardest sell would be their humanity. When was the last time a rock band was this unironic, sincere, at times romantic - and, unlike the emo crowd, unafraid to write a flat-out pop song? Chances are some smart exec would notice them, but that person would probably work for an indie label and the Beatles would likely end up opening for the Polyphonic Spree."

Aiiii. Ain't it der troot.

JC!

Yeah, there wasn't an issue last week because the week before was a double issue. LOL

ROFL! They kill me, all the dire warnings and dead kittens on my doorstep and THE LAST ISSUE EVER!!! and then they send me another one anyway. It is to laugh. ;-)
