RUSSIAN MEME THING - BEWARE

This thing hijacks your password in order to post what looks like a seemingly innocent meme thing. I don't know about you, but that makes me *very* uneasy.

See kaelie's instructions in the comments on clearing data from your computer (using Windows Millenium). Better safe than sorry, that's for sure.

Here's some technical info about it, link courtesy of chrism. As she puts it: "here's the link to more technical info than anyone in their right mind would want..." It's in rosenho's journal.

Also, this guy has been reported to the LJ abuse team by at least one person.

I haven't seen it yet!!!11!1!!! I can't seem to talk the hubs into going with me. I think it'll have to be a thing with girlfriends, blast him. Hmmmmmmmm, maybe I'll find some Ron/Draco or Ron/Harry to read instead. ;-)

Hey, sweetie. :-) Thanks! Unfortunately I'm using Windows ME Millennium (or whatever it's called). The only options from the menu above are:

Delete Temp Files
Delete History

If clearing the cache is the same as deleting the history, I'm cool. But it's probably not, is it? Grrr, I'd like to put that guy's balls in a vice!

Changed my LJ password. Then I did the above, then deleted my cookies by hand. Restarted the computer. Now I'm thinking of changing my Yahoo! password. Again, ::GRRRRRRRRRRRRR::

That's wierd - I'm also working from Windows ME, and my Internet Options (under the "general" tab) offers the following:

Temporary Internet Files (under which there's a delete cookies button and a delete files button), and a Clear History button.
