Ten things? How about six?
Feb. 22nd, 2005 11:59 pmI've been reading some of the "Ten Things I've Done That You Haven't (nyah, nyah!)" lists, and I'm amazed at some of the things you people have experienced. Thievery! Rooftop sex! Celeb encounters involving popcorn! I've been thinking of my list and HAH! That's as far as it's gotten. Thinking about it, that is. I can't think of too many things that I've done that possibly no one else on my friends list has. My list would be hella, hella short were I to compile one. Dammit. Hmmmm.
1) Purchased about 400 CDs in a six week period. YES, I blame it on my iPod. The bulk of those CDs were a dollar (thank you, Half-Price!), a few were two bucks. I bought one for 5.98 - 'cause I'm a big spender.
That's a good start, isn't it? I can't remember ever sneaking into a concert or movie, I've never broken into a business or residence...I've been a pretty good girl. Jeez, I don't think I've ever even cheated on a test. Hmmm.
Well, now it's just *embarrassing.* ::weeps::
Most of the interesting stories I know belong to other people. My husband's chock full of bizarre tales, and could probably list about forty things he's done that (maybe) no one else has - things that would make a good story, anyway.
2) When I was about ten, I jumped out of a tree and onto a nail. Went right through the sneaker and into the ball of my foot. Which reminds me of...
3) A couple of years before the tree incident, I asked a neighbor lady to help me with my Mousetrap game. There was a little spring inside one of pieces and it wasn't doing whatever it was supposed to do. She started fiddling with it to nudge the spring loose, and we were both quite surprised (shocked? quietly freaked?) when the spring suddenly popped out of the piece and went right through her finger. Bee-zahr.
Woohoo! Three things!
4) This summer, withdiamonds and I doubled back on the freeway to follow what turned out not to be JC's tour buses (bwahahahaha!). I'm still laughing at that one. ;-)
5) Watched someone I love win a small shitload of cash.
Five things! Woohoo! Hmmmm.
6) Spent a very short time as a laughably bad band manager. Got to go along to audition a (cute!) bass player. Hung out during rehearsals and even better, went to the studio when the CD was recorded, which was one of the very coolest experiences evah. While watching the guys in the booth, I remember thinking that I could get *very* used to that lifestyle.
