It's five days later and we still haven't emerged from the shadow of Janet Jackson's right breast. Like George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life, Janet's life nourishing jug has touched so many (re: 89 million) in such a short time, one hates to ponder what things would've been like if the rays of her nipple shield hadn't shone so brightly for the whole of a second. Here are some of the most immediately affected:

In guilt-by-boy-band association news, the NFL banned Timberlake's fellow 'N Sync member from performing at the Pro Bowl half-time show this Sunday. Chasez angrily lambasted the powers that be for canceling him over worries about the sexual content of his song "Blowin' Me Up (with Her Love)" even after they made him change the lyrics so that it would be a song sitting Chasez on a crate of explosives. A NFL spokesperson denies charges of being reactionary about the Jackson flap. "We just woke up Monday morning and realized, "Hey, we're the NFL and this guy was in N' Sync! Shouldn't we be booking Steppenwolf or something? What the hell is Bob Seger doing for coin these days?"

I just spent half my life downloading JC on CNN, and the thing won't play! I get audio, but no video. Why can't there be ONE standard player for all this stuff? Quicktime, RealPlayer, MediaPlayer...it's ridiculous! And you have to keep up with the stuff because whatever you want to download next is *guaranteed* to be incompatible with whatever the hell you already have to play it on.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Software, man.

What am I doing wrong? I'm crying. ::sob:: It's been a long day, I'm still crampy, and I'm cranky. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I just wanna see JC. ::sobs again::

Because people love me even when I'm cranky and horrible, I have been able to witness (straight-haired) JC in all his articulate glory.

WIP DAY! Alas, there won't be much springing out of my closet tonight. Tomorrow, mayhap. I've got a Hercules fic that's actually finished, if I remember correctly. Never posted it because I couldn't get it just the way I wanted it. I've got a *ton* of old Herc stuff, as a matter of fact.

Lots of popslash WIPs too, that I could share. I'll have to see what I've got...

The last few weeks have been positively manic at work. Finished up my end of month report this morning, and it took nearly three times as long as usual. Jeebus! I've got the headache from hell, and I'd really like to watch a nice scary movie. A fake scary one though, like one of the old wolfman movies from the 40s. I wanna see the wolfman! Laugh if you must.

The powers that be are not yet mollified. They have banned Janet from performing at the Grammys this Sunday and, for safety's sake, they have also bounced J.C. Chasez , a member of Justin Timberlake's band, *NSync, from performing at the NFL's Pro-Bowl on Sunday.

Mr Chasez doesn't even have breasts, but you can't be too careful: the Pro-Bowl half-time show will now feature "a Hawaiian extravaganza" (with the hula dancers presumably attired in turtlenecks)...
