Big Brother is watching...
Apr. 22nd, 2004 06:01 pm...and I should have realized that. As of yesterday, LJ has been blocked at work. Some hours after I posted yesterday, I refreshed the page (must see what's going on!) and received a lovely little "page blocked!" message.
And dude, I sweated it out the rest of the day and evening, wondering if I'd be fired today. Would the boss call me in her office and ask what the hell was up with "this Live Journal site"? I remembered some looooong, torturous hours later that security in general has been beefed up around the joint, and that's probably all it was/is. I hope. I hope, I hope, I hope.
I heard nothing today, so yes. I hope, I hope, I hope.
I never used to check LJ at work. Can't remember when I (nervously) started peeking in, like once or twice a day. Then somewhere around February 2004 (yes, Chasez, I'm looking in your direction), I refreshed a few more times a day. Then I actually *posted from work.* Oy! Nerve-wracking! So now, the glory days are over.
I didn't abuse being able to cruise in and then out, and I certainly didn't abuse posting from work. It was weird today, not being able to pop in and see how JC did on Wayne Brady today. I miss it already. ::le weep::

Date: 2004-04-22 03:26 pm (UTC)Go to babelfish.altavista.com and type the URL for your friends page into the translate web page box. Choose Russian to English, and press translate. You can't post or view locked posts, but you can check up on things.
It's not something I advocate doing often, but there are some times that you just need to know what's going on.

Date: 2004-04-22 03:52 pm (UTC)How in the *hell* did someone figure that one out!? Ingenious! Hmmmm, I might try that, once, really quickly. While looking over my shoulder. And sweating profusely. ;-)

Date: 2004-04-22 03:48 pm (UTC)The *worst*. I'll probably be walking on eggshells for the next few days (have my monthly one-on-one with the boss on Monday, naturally), before I can relax. :-(

Date: 2004-04-22 03:46 pm (UTC)LOL! You've got that right! Even the hubs noticed, though I didn't say a word about it. I mean, how can you tell someone you're afraid you're going to be fired because you just *had* to see what was going on in LJworld???
He's like, "What's going on? You've got that freaked-out expression on your face." I think I told him I was tired or something. He didn't buy it, though. OY.
