From the New York Post Online, Page Six. Yes, *again* with the New York Post. The last sentence is completely uncalled for.
CHASEZ APOLOGIZES FOR 'OFFENSIVE' CD TITLE
by Richard Johnson
March 8, 2004 -- THE publisher of Schizophrenia Digest is furious at the cover of JC Chasez's new album, "Schizophrenia." Bill MacPhee, also a victim of the disease, is so upset over the album cover, which features Chasez in a straitjacket with rumpled hair and a dark look on his face, he claims "BMG Zomba and Jive have ignored the U.S. Surgeon General's call on the entertainment industry to help eliminate stigma to address the public health crisis that exists." MacPhee also says the album is "grossly misrepresenting the nature of the disease" and notes, "It is important for us all to understand the real symptoms and real implications of the disease. Ignorance will only stall advances for current and future disease sufferers." Chasez's freshman effort debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard charts this week. Chasez said via a rep: "I apologize to anyone I may have offended with the title and cover of my album. I took artistic license . . . as it was in reference to the wide range of music styles in the album." The singer is also said to be upset that his former *NSYNC bandmate Justin Timberlake has not come out to help him promote the album, but a rep for Jive denied this.

Date: 2004-03-08 04:51 am (UTC)All that JC/Justin crap in some of the reviews was making me crazy! Sometimes I wondered if they'd even listened to the album before they started writing!

It's been my pleasure! I'm glad you've been enjoying it. :-)

Date: 2004-03-08 04:55 am (UTC)I was beginning to think we'd never see any further since it's been a few days, and nothing else had popped up.
And I agree the part about Justin was so unnecessary.
Good Lord. Next thing you know there'll be some dance-off challenge in the works. ;-)

Date: 2004-03-08 05:02 am (UTC)I, for one, would not complain about that!! lol Can you imagine it? It'd be so great. My money would be on JC though (naturally).
Sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at the stuff they pull out from nowhere.

Date: 2004-03-08 05:02 am (UTC)It's insane, isn't it? First Britney vs Justin, then Chris vs Justin, then Usher vs Justin (gotta pause here to laugh), now JC vs Justin.
I think a big five-way dance off would settle all of this quite neatly. ;-)

Date: 2004-03-08 05:09 am (UTC)That's it, exactly. And I rarely use this word, but, it's just so *random.* They're talking about the apology and then, KAPOW! You're left scratching your head going, Weh? Where the hell did *that* come from?
Tabloids, man.

This is why the Post is a rag. This annoys the hell out me.

Date: 2004-03-08 09:27 am (UTC)However, the last line has no place being there. At all. It's like last year when there would be all sorts of articles about Justin, and no matter what the topic, the last line would be "Timberlake is currently dating actress Cameron Diaz."
