After sharpening his skills crooning with super-group *NSYNC, J.C. CHASEZ proves that he's got what it takes to rock on his own, with his debut solo album, Schizophrenic!
J.C. co-wrote all 17 tracks, which are influenced by '80s-style New Wave, MICHAEL JACKSON, PRINCE and STEVIE WONDER. "I didn't create a formula or anything like that," says J.C. "Instead I wanted my album to feel organic. So I just did a variety of the music I love."
The album breaks open with the heavy groove of the frenetic first single, "Some Girls (Dance With Women)." J.C. wrote the sexy song from his own observations of girls gettin' down on the dance floor.
"She Got Me" is a smooth and soulful tune with a funky, old-school feel. J.C. counts the many ways he likes to get freaky on the upbeat number "100 Ways." On the same topic, "All Day Long I Dream About Sex" is an interesting track, with a pounding melody straight out of the synthesized heyday of the '80s.
J.C. recently sang on the latest album from legendary electronic group BASEMENT JAXX. The British duo returned the favor by taking over recording, producing and mixing duties on J.C.'s multi-layered sonic wonder "Shake It."
The album comes to a close in grand style, with a remix of "Some Girls (Dance With Women)," featuring grimy rhymes from none other than the dirt-dog himself, DIRT MCGIRT, (a.k.a. OL' DIRTY BASTARD)!
"I did this record on my own terms," insists JC. "I wanted this album to be about fun and music, not business. And that's what happened."
