CHASEZ GETS DIRTY
Fri 24 Oct 2003 14:20
'NSYNC star JC Chasez has teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard for the radio remix of his upcoming solo single.
The pop singer, who releases the track, 'Some Girls (Dance With Women)', to US radio outlets next month, said he wanted to mark the release of his debut solo effort with something special.
"The record company said this is an event, you have to do something," Chasez explained.
"I tried to think of someone unique. Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott are amazing rappers, but they've done a million collaborations.
"In my mind, Dirty is fresh. Fresh out of jail, yes. Nevertheless, no one's heard from him in a while and he's due to make some noise. And the verse he did is really cool."
According to MTV, the video for the new single is set in the streets of Prague (though filmed mostly in Los Angeles) with director Martin Weisz.
"It's a narrative in that I'm the voyeur, watching the action," said Chasez. "It moves [from the street] into a ballroom, but it's not a club scene. It's like a costume party, a Baroque period kind of feel, with white wigs and white makeup.
"Everything was done in good taste," he added. "A lot of cats were worried it would be really strong, but it's just enough to put a smile on your face."
He added: "I shot it with a very European feel. I didn't want it to be overly flashy and look like every video."
'Some Girls (Dance With Women)' is the first track to be lifted from JC's debut solo album - 'Schizophrenic' - which is released in the US on January 27.
As previously reported, 'NSYNC have postponed their reunion until after the album is released and fully promoted.

The pop singer, who releases the track Some Girls (Dance With Women to American radio stations next month, enlisted the talents of the controversial hip-hop star after snubbing a series of high-profile names.
He says, "The record company said this is an event, you have to do something.
