Posted in the JJB, by nsyncgirlique0. From this story in The NY Daily News. Two things caught my interest. First:

Hundreds of hot new sounds - Stars put themselves on the line with autumn CDs

...there are those well-known names embarking on their first solo flights, such as 'N Sync's JC Chasez, Eminem protege Obie Trice and the so-called American Idols Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard.

For a list of those CDs most likely to excite monetary or creative interest during this coming apple-picking season, read on, but bear in mind release dates are subject to change:

October 28 - JC Chasez "Schizophrenic": A solo debut from the second most popular 'N Syncer (after Justin Timberlake).

No dateline on the article, so I don't know how recent it is but...October 28th! Let's hope that holds true. :-D Here's a tidbit from the same article. Wonder if he's going to focus on movies now:

Two more big shots — Jay-Z and DMX — have provided extra incentive to buy their latest CDs. Both are threatening to quit.

September 16 - DMX "The Grand Champ": He says he's sick of the music biz. So this buff Yonkers rapper will put out his final CD this week.

Maybe they'll keep going if we send them more, better feedback! =)

ROFL! How sad is it that it took me a minute to get that? ;-) My ribs hurt from laughing.

Jay-Z: "If I don't get five nice reviews in the next week, I'm pulling my CD off the market!"

DMX: "Hey, that's a good idea, maybe I'll try that, too! Except if I get lots of nice reviews, I'll put a couple of bonus tracks on my next CD. If you want more stuff from me, you'd better start writing good reviews!"

YEP.

I'm thinking Jay-Z's retirement is going to last as long as Britney's hiatus did. Not going to happen.

He's at odds with...Eminem, right? Or is it 50? I get all those rap feuds confused. Maybe he thinks he's getting out of the line of fire...

Jay-Z had beef with Nas. I don't think any lives we're actually threatened.

Didn't JayZ actually *say* that in his pre-VMA award interview? I'm sure I remember that. And DMX too. The plot, she thickens...

I didn't watch the VMAs. I was too busy reading my email. . . .

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. I have to admit that I didn't watch the entire thing. I taped it, but ran in to watch the Brit/Madonna/Christina performance, which is the only thing I saw live. After that, I squealed on LJ the rest of the evening about The Big Kiss.

The plot she thickens, indeed.

Memo to DMX: While you're watching for Alicia's foot, don't trip over mine.

Absolutely no love,

I'll hold him down, you grab the brush, and we'll see if he can hold it without using his hands. ;-)

Oh, I'm quite sure it'll stay where I put it once I get it all the way up there.

Though I may have to readjust it a few times, just to make sure.

So ironic to me that those were the two rappers names mentioned.

No dateline on the article, so I don't know how recent it is but...October 28th!

It's in today's (Sunday) paper, the entertainment section called Showtime. It's written by Jim Farber, who really doesn't like pop music. So if he has anything nice to say about this CD at all, I am surprised.

Farber usually does articles once or twice a week and the Showtime on weekends. So, don't know if that helps you in a dateline.

So, don't know if that helps you in a dateline.

That helps! I wanted to see if it was before or after the January 2004 madness at the JJB. Which doesn't really prove anything, still, it's nice to know that it's recent, and not a couple of weeks old. Thanks!

I know. As it does me. Is it totally necessary to say the whole "second most popular" part? I think not. ::ahem::

Well, it's not surprising. Ja Rule already did "the this will be my last CD" thing already. They need to come up with something more original. LOL

Jay-Z has his different businesses and DMX has his movie career. I wouldn't be surprised at all if either of them wanted to take a "hiatus" from music for awhile.
