Dr. Who!

I was about to give Dr. Who a miss, then I realized that the good doctor himself is Christopher Eccleston, who played Major Henry West in 28 Days Later, one of my all-time favorite movies. Yay! Don't know if I'll watch every week, but I do like Christopher Eccleston. Hmmm. We shall see. It's better than that lameoid John Doe, that's for sure.

Holy friggin' malarkey.

So...while waiting for tonight's episode of Stargate SG-1, I'm watching John Doe. I've never watched it before, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Holy bejeebus. They almost sucked me in. The show had the usual complement of cliches and such, but I'm used to that from cheesy TV shows, so I didn't mind too much. BUT! This is so incredibly stupid! Lead guy has been trying to solve a crime on an airplane. He's been running around and through and under the plane (the cargo hold) so it's pretty safe to say that by this point, everyone on the plane should know he's a good guy, right? He figures who the next victim is, goes charging down the aisle to try to save her life - not unlike the last couple of times he's been charging down the aisle trying to keep the plane from crashing, trying to solve the crime, etc. - and suddenly a bunch of boneheads think he's a threat and immediately impede his progress down the aisle and lock him in a little baggage nook. Repeat after me:

WHAT THE FUCK!?

Yeah, I don't use the "F" word like, ever, so you can see my frustration. Okay, this is the goofiest show ever. The killer has just been unveiled, and I'm watching the big "killer explains his motive" scene. Holy hannah, I'll never watch this show again.

Gimme a kir royale!

Watching Anime on Demand and updating. Honestly, does life get any better than this? I think not.

mmmm, Chinese food... )

The bois at Out.com still love some JC Chasez. )

Hey, handbag chicks!!! Has anyone out there ever ordered from Lush Fashions? They make designer-inspired bags, and they don't look too bad, if the pictures are to be believed.

The bags in the Multi-pocket Flap collection were inspired Mulberry's Roxanne and Rosemary. I've been wanting a biggish tote/hobo type deal for work, and these look pretty good.

I also like this one, a riff off the Chloe Silverado tote - the Silverado doesn't really turn me on, but I like the simpler lines of the inspired bag. This one is the hobo, but they also have the satchel version if that's your thing.

I *love* this one. They call it the Padlock Hobo Bag Tote, and it's inspired by the Chloe Paddington hobo. This is the one that actually had me fingering my wallet.

I also like their creamy version of the Chloe Paddington. I've been thinking about a white/cream/ivory bag for spring/summer, and this is kind of nice.

Mmmm, this is a nice one, inspired by an Isabella Fiore design. Love the color.

L-word musings. Rambling? Rants, kinda.

DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR THE L-WORD! )

I'd intended to post on SG-1 as well, but my brain hurts after this unexpected burst of energy.

YIKES!

Holy JESUS, the winds are high tonight! Seriously, I haven't been this freaked out by high winds in a long, long time - and we live in tornado alley, so that's saying something. :-( Man, tornado season gets here a little earlier every year, it seems.

I can hear twigs and things from the neighbors' trees hitting the side of the house - the bedroom wall, naturally. Methinks I'll be camping out in the living room tonight. Gawd, I hate tornado season. :-( :-( :-(

::is skeered::

Eeeeeeeeeee, I hate this. All the little thumps and whaps and the trees whipping around and something just rolled across the deck. Waaaah!

::is even more skeered::

Wind: 20 mph/32 km/h from the SSW Wind Gust: 24 mph/39 km/h "Showers with a chance of thunderstorms. Windy with lows in the upper 40s. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph."

Shit, now I hear something rolling across the roof. Waaaah! I love my house! I don't want to end up flying/riding it to Kansas!!!

See, I'm in the bedroom near three windows, so I can hear this stuff. Monkey!hubs is in the front of the house with a John Wayne movie blasting, so he can't hear it. He's like, "Really? I can't hear it!" when I jumped off the bed and ran in to tell him that our lives might be in mortal danger of being snuffed out by a falling tree. He blinked a couple of times and laughed at something on the screen. Husbands! I think he's confident that the tree overhanging the back of the house has been properly trimmed and pruned and so won't fall and cave in the roof. Go Hubs!

::is worried::

::is worried and skeered::

::doesn't want to fly to Kansas via domestic residence::

Put yer blades on!

Too bad this didn't turn up a few weeks ago when the Olympics were in full swing because dude, that would have set the mood perfectly.

If you like skating, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz, you're in for a treat. According to this article, Justin and Cam may be gliding their way to a theater near you.

Cameron and J-T put their skates on

Hollywood couple Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake are reportedly planning to appear together in a romantic comedy about a pair of love-struck ice-skaters.

According to sources close to the stars, Diaz will play the role of a figure-skater and Timberlake a speed-skater, although one wonders how they would master such techniques in order to make the film believable.

"The whole thing is set at the Olympic Games in the Olympic Village," said a source.

"Cameron and Justin have been working on a number of ideas together and this is one they are seriously considering taking it on themselves."

Cameron should be the speed skater, and Justin should *totally* be a snowboarder. TOTALLY. How much would *that* rock? Shaun White would have a cameo, of course, and we all know how cool hat would be. Actually, Camm'd make a good skier, too, or one off those luge chicks!

Thanks to timberho for the heads up on this one.

Loser!

I am the world's biggest loser, because I haven't posted in a while. LOSER! My will to live has been sucked dry the last few days because I'm working the old job temporarily until the wo vacant posts are filled.

OH MY FRIGGIN' GOD, I knew I hated the job. I lived it for four years and the last two were just indescribably horrific. Hated the job with the passion of a thousand proverbial burning suns, if not more. OH MY GOD. I was so, so glad to be rid of it that I can't even describe it. In the year since I've had my fabulous new job, it was like stepping out of a cave into a meadow full of daisies, sunshine and kittens. Oh, did I mention that the cave was full of plague-ridden rats, blood-sucking flies and leather-clad freaks with spiked whips? Because, yeah. I left the job for a reason. I HATED IT.

I'll be filling in for about two months, and as of tomorrow, I'll have survived the first week. I've been pretty vocal about my displeasure and because I'm that kind of person, I kind of didn't really care who might have heard me. :-D BUT...I temper my whining with vast amounts of humor, so I'm not just a cow about it. The people I'm helping have enough to deal with without me making their lives more miserable. Are you allowed to say that you like yourself? Because I do, I freakin' *love* me, and I think I'd like to have me for a friend. If I didn't already have me for me, that is. Yeeeeeeeeeeeah, that makes...a modicum of sense, doesn't it?

So. I'm re-learning tasks and I'm bitching and kvetching but I'm also cracking jokes and getting reacquainted with this stuff double-plus quick, so I don't feel guilty about bitching at all, because, hey! I'm also taking care of what needs to be done and my co-workers are getting some laughs out of it as well. OH MY GOD, I hate that job. Thank goodness that I don't have to do all of the night, weekend and holiday stuff that goes along with it - the remaining members are covering most of that stuff, and the guy who's leaving is still doing his share of the out-of-office duties. Woohoo!

Because my own work is piling up (waaah! I love my real, current job!), I'll be going in on Saturday to get caught up. Much as I'd love to reduce my pile while I'm at work, the job I'm subbing for is a little unpredictable, and I might have to drop everything at a moment's notice and put out a million little fires. The old boss has been supersweet to me since I've been sucked back in the Black Hole of Doom and Despair otherwise known as the old job. OH MY GOD, I hate that job.

Other than that, I'm in a good mood. :-D

Goblet of Fire DVD...extras!?

I keep seeing LJ entries about extras on the DVD...are there two versions, one with extras and one - that *I* purchased, naturally - without? I was pretty excited about getting the DVD, but the only menu items I have are "Play Movie", "Scene Selection", and "Languages."

What the hell, man? If somebody out there knows something I don't (which seems to be everyone in the free world ) help a sister out

Harry Potter ficlet! A wee one!

Here's another one that was supposed to be a blurb in response to the Stories I Never Wrote meme, but ended up as a ficlet. Title prompt from stungunbilly, because he's she's a freak. It's kinda Harry/Draco with shadings (perhaps) of Harry/Ron and what might be Ron/Draco around the edges. ;-)

Pre-JuC Day ficlet. :-)

Pre-JuC day fic, kinda. This was supposed to be a blurb in response to the Stories I Never Wrote meme, but it somehow ended up as a story that I *did* write. Well, a storylet anyway. I liked the way it turned out, so here it is, a little thing in honor of the coming JuC holiday. ;-) Title prompt from rikes.
