I'd "squee" with ya, really, but I haven't been blessed with cable ... yet. :-P
There are tons of people hatin' on it already, naturally. Sure, there will probably be an influx of teenies to the show. So what? One of those kids might go to their first show because of Joey, but might very well becomes a theater buff because of it. What if he inspires some future Tony award winner? Lance could very well be inspiring a whole new generation of kids into space travel - one of them might very well be among the first to reach Mars, or further. I can understand some of the concerns I've read, but honestly, Joey's not going to be the demise of Broadway. ;-)
Yeah, I've never been a musically (buff) person myself. (:-\) So I don't care that he's in it, whatever dude.
I think a lot of people see RENT as like, a gay anthem-ish type of show. And they -- though they love Joey, and N*SYNC -- don’t want the new teen fan-base to demean (not the right word, I’m sure) it like they have (slightly) Pop music. Like, with the screaming, and the squealing and the blah, blah, blah. Eh, I dunno. You probably knew this already though. [snicker]
But, duuuu-uuuude, I'm sooo bitter about the Joey RENT thing ... I'll never be able to see him in it. [sigh]
If I did go though, I'd probably squeal, and scream and such. [shrug] It's Joey, come on!
And if all those (lies!!!!) rumors about JC bein' in it were true ... forget about it! I'd freakin' swim there, yessssss! JC!!
