The post in which I opine about the last two Heroes episodes of the season (possibly forever!). You've been warned! Yes, [livejournal.com profile] between_names, I'm gazing in your general direction.

Episode the penultimate:

Aiiiiiiiiiiii! "The Wall" indeed, or whatever the hell the episode was called. As in, the writers hit a wall while trying to come up with ideas, obviously.

Holy friggin' moley, an entire episode devoted to Sylar and Peter hanging out inside Matt!Parkman's brain??? Speaking of Matt!Parkman, I'm not finding a whole lot of reasons to like him these days.

Emma did something in this episode. Wait! Isn't this when she ratted out HRG's girlbud to Skeevy Carnival Guy? And why didn't Emma believe Peter when he told her to stay away from Samuel? Did she trust Samuel because he gave her a cello? I don't know about you, but if I have a trustworthy friend (Peter) who warns me about someone slightly skeevy whom I hardly know (Samuel), I'm pretty sure I'm going to take my friend's advice to heart...and Samuel was pretty freakin' creepy when he first talked to Emma. Could she not sense the creepiness??? Oh Emma, I hate you so. I know that fans inexplicably *heart* you, but you are truly the Anti-awesome. ::sigh::

Some other stuff happened in this episode (just barely), but I'll be dashed if I can remember what.

Episode the last:

Aiiiiiiiiiii! "Brave New World." Seriously? That ringing you hear is your cell phone; Aldous Huxley wants his title back.

The episode speedometer was stuck at negative two miles an hour for the first 45 minutes or so, then picked up speed to about fifteen miles an hour after that. Most notable event for me: an extreme closeup of Sylar's very sexy brown eye - the one with Zachary Quinto's piercing scar. Yum! The eyebrows are a little strong, but I do love the eyes.

Why was Matt!Parkman foraging in the fridge like a squirrel on crack!? Evidently, holding two minds hostage in your brain works up quite an appetite. After WAY too much time and useless dialogue spent convincing Matt!Parkman to let Sylar go -- which seems moot to me as the man was standing right there in the kitchen with Peter and Matt!Parkman -- Peter and Sylar had to quickly and effectively dispatch Evil Multiples Guy before they could hightail it outta there and get to savin' the fair Emma.

I'm not sure how I feel about Sylar's supposed turn to goodness. It's almost interesting as a concept, KINDA, except it's a little weak on execution, no pun intended. Sadly, Sylar lacked a lot of the badassery I've come to expect from the character. If Sylar's going to be good, I want him good like, like...Michael, the warrior angel of God. Sylar should be kickin' ass and taking names if he's no longer kickin' ass and taking brains. Oh show, why have you emasculated my lovely, evil man? "I'm a hero." Aiiiiii! Say it ain't so!

The build up to the big wimpy carnival finish was...wow. Wimpy. The six second showdown between Samuel and Peter was pretty sad, and when the cops came and took the now powerless Samuel away in a cruiser, well, I honestly couldn't believe it, though it did totally vindicate Claire's seemingly hilarious-at-the-time "Turn yourself in!" moment from a couple of episodes back. I laughed back then because, Samuel in a jail cell (or wherever), hahahahaha! It seemed ludicrous. And then it happened. I was agog.

Charlie and Hiro...OY. You know what? I don't even have the strength. You'll find their resolution here.

Oh yeah, Claire and Claire's!dad escaped certain death by a Deux et Machina I'm too tired to type up and too tired to link you to. At the end of the episode, Claire climbed to the top of a ferris wheel in front of a bunch of reporters, and jumped off. So now the world knows (will know) about people with abilities. And I'm sure the world's Specials will all love Claire for that.

Ye gods.
