Finally, JC on Vegas! ::sobs with relief::

JC on teevee!!!!!!! Singing! Being JC! Looking good! Yes, the JC episode of Vegas FINALLY aired, thank God, so I never have to watch that show again. EVAR.
1) Yay! JC's first scene! I thought he did well. He looks good, broader and beefier. It suits him. :-)
2) "Short, metrosexual boyband type with a guitar?" HAHAHAHAHA! First hahaha, then, what? Short? He's an inch shy of six feet tall. Since when is 5'11" considered short? Was someone else slated to play the role and they forgot to revise the script? Stupid.
3) Eeeee! He's singing live! He sounds great! This song wasn't bad at all. I need new JC tunes in the worst way, and this was quite a nice surprise. Does MTV still do Unplugged? The Chasez needs to hit that show when'Kate' is released. You'll notice I said when, not if. When.
4) "Hot guitar guy." That's right, cow. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, Chasez hotness on my TV, singing live, with new songs. I'm in a happy, happy place.
5) "My guitar!" BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Complete with expressive hand gestures! JC, I love you dearly, and you were perfectly fine, even good, in some scenes. Sadly, this wasn't one of them. Oh, Chasez, with your uneven acting, I love you so.
6) I was glad that they resisted the urge to paint him as a loser cheater-boy...right up until the very last scene, of course. Ah, well.
YAY! IT'S OVER! I NEVER HAVE TO WATCH AGAIN! But before that, here are my thoughts on the show overall. Not that anyone cares.
1) Is it me, or was that episode unnecessarily nasty toward overweight folks? I was really, really (thankfully) surprised that they managed to use the term "whale" without an eye-rollingly obvious whale/whale! Get it? joke. The way the script was rolling I fully expected it, and you *know* the writers were just itching to do it. ::MASSIVE eye roll::
2) Is Sam the most unprofessional whale-wrangler ever, or again, is it just me? She was pretty dismissive when (Kira?) said hello at the craps table. For all Sam knew (until she recognized her, that is,) the woman may have had a billion dollar wad stashed in her bag, and even if she didn't, the woman was still spending money at the casino. BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, BEE-YOTCH. Good Lord. Yeah, I know Sam was chuffed at whale-boy seemingly cheating on his gal (I say seemingly because at that point, he hadn't) and all but honestly, let's at least pretend to be professional around the edges, shall we?
3) Dalinda. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah.
4) Security Guy allergic to horses. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah.
5) Was anyone else squicked at Casino Operations Guy offering to take Currently Under-age Horse-owner boy out whoring around, his treat, when the kid turned 18? I was *seriously* skeeved watching that. Also, gratuitous Fergie mention! Hahaha, they're engaged for realz, how clever! OMG, episode, just be over so I don't have to watch you again.
6) The horse is in Casino President's office! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah.
In short, Vegas = DO NOT WANT.

From:first tv, next, "Killer Movie"
Date: 2008-01-05 11:44 pm (UTC)I was glad they made him an asshole at the end. It's always more fun to play bad guys than good guys.
He could have eloucuted better during some of those scenes. During his dialogue, not singing. He sounded wonderful. He really does have the best voice in former Nsync. But he needed to punch some lines so he didn't sound so mumbly.
Oh yeah, the whole fathate thing going on --ugh. Not JC's fault, though, but. But it wasn't any more fatphobic than 100% of the rest of programming on tv. And advertising. And music. And the world.
When JC was first talking to the girl that used to be on 90210 and he gave her an up-and-down-look, it just seemed so, uh, unconvincing. Like he's out of practice pitching woo to the ladies. It looked a lot more like he was cruising a guy.
"short metrosexual boy band type" - made me giggle. Actually, a lot of women would could consider 5'11 short. Most women I know who are above 5'7 wouldn't even look at a guy under 6 feet. And something about JC's body type makes him look long in some places and short in others. He doesn't "look" tall the way Justin does. For me, while 5'11 on a guy isn't "short" per se, it's not "tall" either. Not that I'd kick him out of bed for that height. It's fine for me and fine for Justin. :-)
It's silly that I thought it cute that his name was William. They could have given him the last name "Rast". Tee.

Date: 2008-01-06 07:03 pm (UTC)And yes, here's to an unplugged special with JC! Without too many ballads, though. These two songs were just a bit too ballady-ish for my taste. But hey, there's JC singing, on tv! That wasn't yesterday. So yay, all in all.

Date: 2008-01-07 05:58 am (UTC)He sounded so fabulous singing, though. And he looked adorable.
However, that is the worst show in the history of ever and I watched it TWICE for him. I hope he knows the kinds of things we do for him.
