I don't think there are that many Eureka fans on my friends list, but I'll cut anyway because I'm all about the niceness and being considerate and whatnot.

Say what? That was probably the lamest Eureka ep I've ever seen, and I'm pretty sure I've seen them all. Holy cats, I don't even know what they were going for.

Jo: YAY! They got her away from Taggart McCreepy! I believe Matt Frewer's age is listed as 48, but he looks 78 to me, so watching them try to hook up always made me cringe and go YUCK! and fast forward through the scene. His completely awful attempt at an Australian accent made me want to barf, so yeah. If I never see him again -- and if I never see the two of them onscreen again -- I can't say I'll be upset.

Sadly, they seem to have moved swiftly away from Fargo's interest in Jo to this cocky new guy that I'm reallllllllly hoping will fall by the wayside soon. I have no patience for cocky characters who enjoy breaking the rules. I don't find it endearing at all and if that makes me a stick in the mud, well, I'm fine with that. Also, Jo looked quite lovely in last night's ep. She's a gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl!

Zoe: Zoe used to bug me (see above cocky character who breaks the rules), but I'm glad they toned down her rebel deal this season because honestly, if you're that unhappy in Eureka, go the hell back to L.A. to live with your mom. She's actually turning into a character that I enjoy, minus the horrible flatironed hair. Note to styling department: Not everyone can pull off a center part. This kid is not an exception to that rule. Fix please? Okay, thanks.

Henry: YAY! Henry's still the smartest guy in town, pretty much! I think it was more fun before he worked at Global and he'd pop up any- and everywhere doing just about anything, but he's stil got tons of screen time and it works with his current storyline, so I'm happy.

Nathan Stark: I always enjoyed his snappy, smartass repartee with Sheriff Carter, but I *really* like him now. Now that he's not the head of Global he's got this layer of laid-back going on that works well with the aforementioned snappy, smartass repartee. I much prefer this relaxed version of Stark. I hope he sticks around for a while. Unfortunately, I do not want him with Allison. No, no, no.

Sheriff Carter: WAH!!! They've sidelined my ship, dammit! I enjoyed the slow build last year, with the teasing and the looks and the timeline that never happened. I *want* them together. I guess moving on is natural, but it doesn't make me happy, dammit. I hope next season brings them back to the flirting and stuff. And I love Sheriff Carter. Great character.

Allison: See above. Should be with Carter. ::squee:: Other than that, I love Allison.

I'm sad that they didn't do more with Teryl Rothery in last night's ep; she was wonderful on Stargate as Janet, and it would be *great* to see her in a recurring role on Eureka, but doing smart stuff and saying smart things, not just pining. Pining for a dead husband named Daniel, of all things, and you can't tell me that wasn't deliberate! Again, a note to the stylists: Teryl's hair looked awful. More like that and you're FIRED. Jeez, my cats could do better.

I'm a fan of Eureka, but somehow I completely and totally missed it last night - for some reason it didn't even cross my mind. *pouts*

oh well, it doesn't sound like the episode was that strong, so I can wait and catch it during a marathon or repeat later.

Just so you know, I adore Eureka! It's just so unrelentingly *cute*, in a not at all cutesy way, and then just when you think it's all-cute-all-the-time, they do something like what they're up to with Henry and Carter.

Ai, my heart! Carter misses his best friend so much and only barely knows he doesn't have him! *sob*

I'm also a bit sad about sidelining Carter and Allison, but I kind of dig the triangle now. It sort of reminds me of the good old days on Dead Zone, with three grown-ups who are basically decent trying to deal with the fact that the chick actually loves both of them and they also really like each other.

I'm with you on Zoe, though I don't mind her hair, and also on Jo and the new guy, whose name I can't quite remember right now. But mostly: HENRY! CARTER! *sob* When Carter was all, "You're my best friend, you know that, right?" I melted right through the floor.

I totally need a Eureka icon.

I do enjoy the triangle, but I liked it more when it looked like Carter had a slight edge. ;-) He's just so sweet about his crush, and he deals with it in a realistic way. He adores her but he isn't hitting her over the head with it at every opportunity. I'm not a fan of this word (overkill much?) but he's a grown-up about it.

Henry! I was afraid at first that Henry would become unrecognizable in his new quest to find out what happened to Kim, but he's still mostly on point. Poor Carter, not knowing what happened. I keep waiting for the one incident that going to blow the memory block out of the water, so to speak, and everything will come flooding back. His best friend hates him, kind of. That'll hurt.

All in all, a smart, funny show. I like that they're characters and not caricatures. I don't know if the show was up for any Emmys, but it should have been. The writing's really well done!

They rerun that previous ep right before the new one, so you can catch it next week.

I know what they were getting at with the mystery of life, the universe and everything, but someone fell asleep during the planning stages. There were some good bits and pieces, as usual, but as a whole it was lacking.

Are you kidding me? I love Eureka! I download it religiously (now that I don't have satellite). That being said, I haven't seen last night's ep. I will agree with you about New Guy + Jo. I feel nothing for character's like that. It's like they're trying too hard for edge, you know?

New guy = taking it to another level

Carter continues to be my favorite character and as much as I want he and Allison to ride into the sunset together, I also enjoy yelling, "BUT THEY SHOULD BE SO IN LOVE!" at the screen and weeping bitterly for their loss in my pillow.

Yay! None of my offline friends watch it and neither does foxmonkey!husband, so I've been alone in my Eureka lurve. Now I know my squee will land on understanding ears. :-)

LOL! Down, if they're not careful. I was really surprised when he showed up in the episode, as he's not the kind of character they've nurtured so far. I *really* hope he's not going to get a bigger part. Smartass doesn't turn me on. ;-p

Did you see last week's ep, with Zoe's new love interest? Now that guy I approve of. :-)

Carter continues to be my favorite character and as much as I want he and Allison to ride into the sunset together, I also enjoy yelling, "BUT THEY SHOULD BE SO IN LOVE!" at the screen and weeping bitterly for their loss in my pillow.

ROFL! Yes, I've wept my share of bitter tears as well. I'm complaining but honestly, I'd rather they stretch it out this way than a lot of UST and longing and pining that would have me throwing things at the TV. Still, KISS THE GIRL! I also hate that they made me like Stark more; I want Carter to get the girl, but now I feel bad about it. ;-)

Never has ambiously evil or cutthroat looked so good on the small screen. I have also enjoyed this laid-back Stark way more than I anticipated. He has some of the best lines in the show and you can tell the actor enjoys it.
