foxmonkeyEight minutes to midnight and instead of being in bed, where I *should* be, I'm sitting at my computer updating my LJ, which I haven't done in about a million and a half months.

Aiiii! I still Google the Chasez nearly every day, but haven't seen mentions of the new album (or studio time or anything) for a while. I did see where Justin's getting voice lessons to bring his speaking voice down to a more manly register. I've been catching up on my friends' pages for the last couple of days, checking out what's new and fab in fandom. Apparently something called myspace.com is the new black. Oh Lance. You kill me.
I've watched a ton of TV. When I first got into fandom ages ago, my TV consumption levels slowed to a trickle. Well, I've been making up for it with a vengeance! I've fallen in love with Stargate SG-1, though it irritates me beyond measure sometimes (Can I smack Sam? Please?). I fell head over heels with Firefly, and can't wait for the 'Serenity' DVD release next week. Gina Torres is quite possibly the most beautiful woman in the world, and so far, is the only woman to inspire me to write het - first as Nebula in the Xenaverse, and now as Zoe on Firefly. Ever swimming against the tide, I'm a Mal/Zoe 'shipper. Woohoo! I'm a freak.
I continue to adore Rupert Grint/Ron Weasley, and to bemoan his character assasination at the hands of that asshat screenwriter, Steve Kloves. Bastige. Haven't seen GoF yet. I know I'm probably going to hate it, so I'll catch it when it hits HBO.

I'm slowing easing back into fandom. I'm a Libra (am I on crack or are you one too?), and I think I just needed to re-establish my equilibrium!
Reading LJ the last couple of days reminded me how much I loved being around like-minded individuals. A friend of mine is a fellow Ron fan and we gnash our teeth together over changes made in the movies, but I can't really squeal about the boylurve with her. I definitely miss that. ;-)

Date: 2005-12-14 05:36 am (UTC)I've been so disappointed in the lack of really great fic posted since HBP. It seems like everyone in the world has left the fandoms they were in behind in favor of the shiny new Stargate Atlantis. It is to cry.
But yes, the movie was good, I thought. Not nearly as nasty as Kloves could have made it, and some really fantastic Ruperty stuff.

Date: 2005-12-14 05:39 am (UTC)Thank you! Yes, I think I'll be around for a while. I honestly didn't realize it had been so long (last February!!!) since I last updated. I thought it had been June, maybe, and was shocked at how far off the mark I was!
And no, you havn't missed a whole lot, fandom- or Chasez-wise.
I could tell things had been slow. I think my biggest surprise was finding that Justin's movie doesn't seem like it will ever see the light of day. With that cast, I thought sure it would be a hit.
Also, it actually feels like SG-1 is teh new black 'round these parts, because I haven' seem it yet and everyone is raving.
You definiely have to take it with a couple of spoonfuls of salt. Some eps I love and others are just...grrrr! Have to grit my teeth to get through them. But overall I really enjoy the show. You should check it out if you get the chance!
Seems like there's a ton of Stargate Atlantis lurve floating around, too! That one I don't watch so much.

I've been a big ol' slug, watching TV and playing with my cats and enjoying the hell out of my new non-stressful job. ;-)
And squee with the icon, woman! I'm such a fool for Daniel Jackson that it isn't funny. Forgot to mention that I've been reading SG-1 fic like a fiend during my LJ hiatus, and while I enjoy Jack/Daniel, I can't wait for the Daniel/Cameron fic to come rolling in. D/C's off to a realllly slow start, which I found surprising. I thought sure there'd be tons of stuff posted after the first few eps!
