JC bits out of nowhere!
Sep. 23rd, 2004 09:14 pmI do love these random mentions of our boy. These may have been posted elsewhere, but I haven't seen them. From a longer gossip piece on the SunSentinel.com website:
Haitian designer Marie Claudinette Pierre Jean had things rocking at her spring/summer runway show for Fushá in New York.
First up, her husband, Wyclef Jean, started the show strumming his electric guitar while warming up the catwalk to the delight of the glitzy front-row: Foxy Brown, Ja Rule, Janice Combs, Vivica A. Fox, Simon Rex, J.C. Chasez, Nicole Richie, Tyson Beckford, Damon Dash, Farnsworth Bentley and Bai Ling.
Backstage beforehand, Chasez, Rex, Fox, Ling and Jean were tossing back the new fashion cocktail, the Haute Dam (1.5 ounces of Damrak Gin, 1.5 ounces freshly squeezed orange juice, splash of Cointreau, dash of grenadine). The drink, much to the delight of the celebs, is served in a hollowed-out orange.
Mmmm, that sounds pretty tasty. And a less fun mention here, on the WindyCityMediaGroup.com website, from a longer piece by David Byrne. *The* David Byrne, I wonder? Doubtful, but interesting.

Several other artists have branched out from the comfort zone of their bands, some were more successful, like Beyonce and Justin Timberlake, while others got lost in the shuffle like Nick Carter and J.C. Chasez, but with help from the likes of Wendy & Lisa, Nellee Hooper and Dallas Austin on this collection, things look bright for Gwen.
From the same source...Laura Branigan died!? 80s children probably remember her...
Thick eye-browed ‘80s pop singer Laura Branigan passed away in her sleep the last week of August, leaving behind a great collection of music and some classic hits. Although she is best known for her jams “Self Control” and “Gloria,” her career was not confined to those two alone.
